Music From Copland House Brings France To New York City In AFTERNOONS IN PARIS

Hailed by The New Yorker as bold, adventurous, and superb, Music from Copland House is the widely-acclaimed ensemble-in-residence based at the award-winning creative center for American music at Aaron Copland's National Historic Landmark home in Westchester County. Founding and Principal Artists featured at this concert are Derek Bermel, clarinet; Curtis Macomber, violin; Alexis Pia Gerlach, cello; and Michael Boriskin, piano.

Boston Ballet Announces 2019-2020 Season

Boston Ballet Artistic Director Mikko Nissinen announces programming for the 2019 2020 season at the Boston Opera House. The season opens with Giselle, a haunting tale of love, betrayal, and forgiveness. Nissinen's The Nutcracker returns to delight audiences with its beloved characters and brilliant dancing. The spring season includes a cutting-edge world premiere by Stephen Galloway and works by world-renowned choreographers George Balanchine, Jorma Elo, William Forsythe, Ji Kyli n, Helen Pickett, and Jerome Robbins. Mikko Nissinen's Swan Lake returns to captivate audiences with a tale of romance and enchantment. The Company's 56th season runs September 19, 2019 through May 31, 2020.

Celebrity Series of Boston Announces 5th Annual Stave Sessions Lineup

The Celebrity Series of Boston presents the 5th annual Stave Sessions, the unique music series showcasing the innovative, the experimental, and the collaborative approaches of emerging artists. The 2019 Stave Sessions take place March 19-23, 2019 at 160 Mass. Ave. in Boston. Doors open at 7pm; concerts begin at 8pm. Each concert features 2 sets with one intermission. Joffrey's 2019/20 Season Includes JANE EYRE, DON QUIXOTE, and More

Ashley Wheater, The Mary B. Galvin Artistic Director of The Joffrey Ballet, proudly announces an impressive 2019-2020 season featuring a Chicago premiere from Northern Ballet Artistic Director Cathy Marston, along with a Chicago premiere from Tony Award-winning choreographer and New York City Ballet Resident Choreographer Justin Peck, plus the return of an audience favorite by choreographer Yuri Possokhov, and Christopher Wheeldon's holiday classic The Nutcracker. The Joffrey Ballet begins its 64th season with Marston's modern re-telling of Jane Eyre, October 16-27, 2019, followed by Wheeldon's magical holiday classic The Nutcracker, November 30-December 29, 2019. For its winter engagement, the Joffrey presents a mixed repertory program that includes the Chicago premiere of Peck's acclaimed The Times Are Racing, the Chicago premieres of Mono Lisa and The Sofa by Israeli choreographer Itzik Galili, Wheeldon's Commedia, and Bliss!, a new work from Stephanie Martinez, winner of the Joffrey's 2015 Winning Works choreographic competition, February 12-23, 2020. Closing the season is the return of Possokhov's Don Quixote, April 22- May 3, 2020, which received its world premiere in Chicago in 2011.

Chamber Music Hawaii (CMH) and the University of Hawai?i (UH) celebrate the centennial of Stravinsky's L'Histoire du Soldat (The Soldier's Tale) with an original Hawaiian translation of the work: Molelo o ke Koa. The production is adapted and directed by Todd Farley, and it features CMH musicians alongside actors and dancers from UH. Public performances are Monday, January 14 at 7:30 p.m. in the Doris Duke Theatre and Today, January 18 at 7:30 p.m. in Paliku Theatre. General Admission tickets are $35 per person and can be purchased at ChamberMusicHawaii.org.

Valley Of The Moon Music Festival Announces 5th Anniversary Season

 Valley of the Moon Music Festival (VMMF), the first and only organization in the U.S. devoted to presenting the chamber music of the Classical and Romantic eras performed on instruments built when the music was written, today announced the program for its Fifth Anniversary Season next summer. The Festival will pay tribute to Europe's powerful 19th century salonnieres, women who worked to advance the careers and reputations of composers from Bach to Stravinsky. Returning to the Hanna Center Auditorium in Sonoma July 14 - 28, the Festival will make a musical tour of several salons including those of Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel in Leipzig, Sara Levy in Berlin and Winnaretta Singer, "Princesse de Polignac," in Paris.
