Kicking off its 2017/18 Season: Survival Instincts, Constellation Theatre Company will present screenings of the 1920 German expressionist horror film The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari from August 9-13 at Source, located at 1835 14th Street NW, Washington, DC. Helen Hayes Award-winning percussionist Tom Teasley will reveal the horror of the Cabinet as he performs his original score live at every screening to complement this classic silent film. The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari is the third installment in Constellation's ongoing silent film series featuring Tom Teasley, following The Adventures of Prince Achmed in 2015 and Metropolis in 2016. Juilliard Dance announces its 2018-19 season of performances of world premieres, masterworks in repertory, and new works developed by Juilliard students. The cornerstone of the season is New Dances: Edition 2018, featuring four world-premiere dances by innovative choreographers Stefanie Batten Bland (fourth-year class), alumnus Peter Chu (third-year class), Nelly van Bommel (second-year class), and Marcus Jarrell Willis (first-year class). Performances take place December 7, 8, 10, and 11, at 7:30pm and December 9 at 3pm in Juilliard's Peter Jay Sharp Theater. In the spring semester, Juilliard Spring Dances features repertory works by acclaimed choreographers: Bill T. Jones' D-Man in the Waters (Part 1); Alejandro Cerrudo's Little Mortal Jump; and Martha Graham's The Rite of Spring. Performances take place on March 27-29, at 7:30pm and March 30, at 2pm and 7:30pm in Juilliard's Peter Jay Sharp Theater.

After receiving close to 100 applications, a selection committee comprised of educators, administrators and performers from Boston's thriving jazz scene has chosen 25 ensembles to perform at a series of connected, walkable locations along the Charles River Esplanade, interpreting the same curated list of Boston-related tunes in one collective free concert.

Markus Hinterhauser, Artistic Director of the Salzburg Festival, will perform a two-part concert at the Ojai Music Festival in Ojai, California on June 8, 2018. The program features rarely heard works by Galina Ustvolskaya, including her Six Sonatas for Piano Solo. The first part of the concert will begin at 1:00 p.m. Hinterhauser will be joined by Patricia Kopatchinskaja, the 2018 Music Director of the Ojai Festival, for the second part of the concert at 2:30 p.m. Both parts will be performed at the Libbey Bowl.
In his first work for ABT, McGregor created a new scenario set to Igor Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring. AFTERITE is brought to the stage by set and costume designer Vicki Mortimer, with video designs by Ravi Deepres and lighting by Lucy Carter, all of whom have previously collaborated with McGregor. The World Premiere of AFTERITE features Guest Artist Alessandra Ferri. The Spring Gala will also feature a pièce d'occasion by tap dance choreographer Michelle Dorrance. Co - commissioned with the Vail Dance Festival, the World Premiere by Dorrance is her first work for ABT.
