According to the annual school play survey conducted by the Educational Theatre Association (EdTA), The Addams Family, Clue, and Check Please received top billing for the most produced musical, full-length play, and short play, respectively, during the 2019-20 school year, which was cut short by the closures required by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The new album Kim David Smith: Live at Joe's Pub is available on digital and streaming platforms, in addition to a physical CD, today Friday, July 17. The provocative Australian singer and performer was nominated for the Helpmann Award, Australia's highest honor for the performing arts.

The lineup for Monday's world premiere of The Muny 2020 Summer Variety Hour Live! has been announced. The free, live-streamed program will air on Monday, July 20, at 8:15 p.m. CST.

Today we rewind to 2014, when The Bridges of Madison County was preparing for Broadway. The musical, written by Jason Robert Brown and Marsha Norman, played for 100 performances at the Gerald Schoennfeld Theatre.

Syracuse's Redhouse Arts Center is back at it again bringing theater to audiences virtually with their now streaming production of the world premiere of the virtual sequel Still Waiting a Play Created for Zoom by Marc Palmieri and wonderfully directed by Hunter Foster. The play is of course part II of Waiting For the Host, which made its streaming debut at Virtual Redhouse on May 28, 2020. The sequel Still Waiting began streaming on Thursday, June 25, 2020 and is available for viewing through June 29, 2020.

Redhouse Arts Center's Virtual Redhouse will present the World Premier of another online play, Still Waiting, which is the sequel to Waiting for the Host which Redhouse recently produced and streamed. Both these comedy/dramas are written by playwright Marc Palmieri and designed specifically for online performance.

Many theaters are all finding unique ways to still bring theater, concerts, and the arts to their audiences. Facebook live, Zoom, and other streaming services are certainly getting a work out as schools, theaters, performers, and many workplaces have all shifted online due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Redhouse debuted its first virtual play Waiting for the Host by Marc Palmieri under the visionary direction of Hunter Foster on Thursday, May 28, 2020 and it will be available for purchase and streaming through June 1, 2020.

Redhouse Arts Center has recently launched a number of online programs under its 'Virtual Redhouse' and is expanding on those offerings. Beginning May 4th and running through May 17th, Redhouse will be giving audiences the opportunity to watch its production of the Off-Broadway hit Almost, Maine which originally ran in January/February of 2019.
