Angourie Rice, Auli’i Cravalho, Jaquel Spivey and Reneé Rapp have joined the cast of the Mean Girls movie musical. The film adaptation of Mean Girls the Musical will be directed by Arturo Perez Jr. and Samantha Jayne and was written by Tina Fey, with music by Jeff Richmond and lyrics by Nell Benjamin.

Centenary Stage Company's 2022 Holiday Spectacular, Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella, The Enchanted Edition, is headed into its final weekend of performances.

Broadway actor Quentin Oliver Lee, who most recently starred Off-Broadway in Heather Christian's Oratorio For Living Things, has passed away at age 34 from colon cancer.

The Educational Theatre Association, Disney Theatrical Group, and Music Theatre International have announced 51 winners of the United States of Frozen contest, after an extraordinary response from high schools across the US. 

The Howard County Arts Council  has announced that Dr. Daria J. Willis, president of Howard Community College (HCC), will serve as Honorary Chair of the 25th annual Celebration of the Arts in Howard County. 

The Northern New Jersey Community Foundation's (NNJCF) Frank DeLorenzo Memorial Scholarship Fund awarded Pilar Carranza, a graduate of the Leonia High School class of 2022 in Leonia, New Jersey, its fourth annual scholarship.  This fall, Carranza plans to attend Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles and study animation and fine arts.

The Educational Theatre Association (EdTA) has announced three of Broadway's bright stars are joining us to encourage and entertain attendees at this year's International Thespian Festival (ITF). They'll also join in celebrating the best in high school theatre as multiple productions are performed on the Main Stage daily.

Grammy award-winning artist, Lee Greenwood, best known for his signature song “God Bless the U.S.A.” will appear on Fox & Friends on Friday, May 27 to kick off Memorial Day weekend and launch the network’s summer concert series. Greenwood will also make appearances on Varney & Company, Fox News Radio, and more.

Registration is open now! Art Center Sarasota is once again encouraging young children and teens to set their inner artists free at its summertime art camps. The 10 weekly sessions run May 31 to August 5. The programs target two different age groups: Creative Kids serves children, ages 6 to10; Emerging Arts is for aspiring artists, ages 11 to 15. The camps are Mondays through Fridays, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Plays by local high school seniors, Alexandra Askew, Kaleigh Medlow, and Pearl Reagler have been chosen by Dirt Dogs Theatre Co. for its 2022 Student Playwright Festival.

The winners of the 2022 Richard Rodgers Awards for Musical Theater were announced today by the American Academy of Arts and Letters. Both musicals received Staged Reading Awards.

The Educational Theatre Association (EdTA) members have elected two board directors in voting that closed March 16, 2022. Patricia Santanello of Dublin, Ohio, and Silvia D. Scaife of Auburn, Ala., will serve as board directors. Both bring deep educator experience to the board.

Centenary Stage Company's production of A Christmas Carol adapted by Stephen Temperley is entering its final weekend of shows. These final performances will be on Thursday, December 9 at 7:30 pm; Friday, December 19 at 8:00 pm; Saturday, December 11 at 8:00 pm; and Sunday, December 12 at 2:00 pm.
