Dancers Over 40's celebration of Tommy Tune and DO40 author Kevin Winkler’s book, Everything is Choreography: The Musical Theater of Tommy Tune! Sold out! Over 120 in attendance at the Actors’ Temple Theatre in NYC. Two panels, three performances, videos, and a premiere video from ADM21 rounded out the evening.

a??a??a??a??a??a??a??a?oeThe 8tha?? made sure its one win (out of seven nominations) counted as it nabbed Best Production at the 2020 Origin 1st Irish Theatre Festival Awards at Rosie O'Grady's in Times Square tonight. The world premiere of Seanie Sugrue's comedy-drama about a family's tensions around Ireland's recent epic referendum to overturn the 8th Amendment outlawing abortion, ran for 13 performances at The Secret Theatre in Queens and was produced locally by Locked in the Attic Productions, with Five OHM Productions.

Productions and plays from Ireland face off against several homegrown New York productions as the 12th annual Origin 1st Irish Theatre Festival hands out its awards at a closing night ceremony at Rosie O'Grady's Manhattan Club, 800 Seventh Avenue, on Monday February 3 at 6:30pm.

Direct from Dublin, the sharp-aimed soccer-culture comedy a?oeAppropriatea?? arrives for its US premiere as part of the 2020 Origin 1st Irish Festival. The very limited engagement running from January 27 to February 2 at the New York Irish Center, 10-40 Jackson Avenue, in Long Island City plays 7 performances from Monday January 27 to Sunday February 2. The show opens officially on Monday January 27 at 8pm.

Jonathan Hadary has received the annual St. Clair Bayfield Award presented by the Actors' Equity Foundation for his performance as Sicinius Velutus in The Public Theatre's Shakespeare in the Park Coriolanus. Danielle Brooks and John Keating have been selected to receive the 2019 Joe A. Callaway Award presented by the Actors' Equity Foundation. The award, honoring the best performance in a professional production of a classic play (one written prior to World War ll) in the New York metropolitan area, will be presented at Actors' Equity Association's Eastern Regional Membership Meeting at 2 pm on Monday January 13, 2020 at the Equity offices, 165 West 46th Street in New York. Newly anointed Tony winner Andre De Shields capped off the theater award season by receiving the 2019 Richard Seff Award at Equity's Eastern Regional Board meeting on June 11th at Equity's office in New York.

Marylouise Burke (True West) and Andre De Shields (Hdestown) are the recipients of the annual Richard Seff Award presented by the Actors' Equity Foundation to veteran female and male character actors for the best performance in a supporting role in a Broadway or Off-Broadway production.  The announcement was made by Judy Rice, president of the Foundation, which administers the award.

The Actors' Equity Foundation's 2019 Clarence Derwent Awards for most promising female and male performers on the New York metropolitan scene have gone to Sarah Stiles (Tootsie) and Ephraim Sykes (Ain't Too Proud:The Life and Times of The Temptations).  The announcement was made by Judy Rice, president of the Foundation, which administers the awards.

It's three in the afternoon, and the chairs at The Laurie Beechman Theater, the basement cabaret of the West Bank Cafe, are stacked atop tables awaiting rearrangement by the night staff.
