CORIOLANUS: FIGHT LIKE A BITCH Announces Cast

To live like a legend... sometimes you have to fight like a bitch. The country is at war, and the Senate cannot keep the peace within its own walls--- let alone on the battlefield. Enter Coriolanus: the country's most famous badass warrior. She returns home to face the greatest battle yet: to win the love of the people & run for office--- or face the dangerous consequences of defying society's expectations. CORIOLANUS, the rarely produced play by William Shakespeare about politics, power, and pride, is packed with daring physical combat and deliciously vicious language.

Magic and Adventure Abound in New Musical at Book-It

Book-It Repertory Theatre will bring magic, adventure, and inspiration this holiday season with Howl's Moving Castle, a new musical based on an original book by Diana Wynne Jones. Founding Co-Artistic Director Myra Platt will adapt and direct the musical stage adaptation of the award-winning fantasy novel and local actor Justin Huertas will write music and lyrics.

Justin Huertas and Sara Porkalob to Host the 9th Annual GREGORY AWARDS

Theatre Puget Sound (TPS) and the Gregory Awards announced today that critically-acclaimed writers and performers Justin Huertes and Sara Porklalob will host the 9th Annual Gregory Awards, live at Marion Oliver McCaw Hall at the Seattle Center on Monday, October 23 (7:30pm). This will be both Huertes and Porkalob's first time hosting the Gregory Awards, though neither are new-comers to the award ceremonies. Huertes is a 2015 two-time winner for his work Lizard Boy, while Porkalob was a featured performer in last year's ceremony.

GYPSY Comes to Cahn Auditorium This Summer

Music Theater Works (formerly Light Opera Works) presents GYPSY, the tale of an ambitious stage mother fighting for her daughters' success, at Cahn Auditorium in Evanston, August 19 through 27. A 25-piece orchestra accompanies such well-known songs as "Everything's Coming Up Roses," "Let Me Entertain You" and "Some People."

Mirror Stage Launches New EXPAND UPON Series

Sponsored in part by the City of Seattle Office of Arts & Culture, Mirror Stage is thrilled to launch its new Expand Upon staged reading series. Mirror Stage commissions two local playwrights to each develop a short play responding to a community-selected theme, using the same multi-generational, multi-racial cast. For this first round of Expand Upon, the community selected the theme Institutional Racism, and Mirror Stage commissioned playwrights Rachel Atkins and Seayoung Yim.
