Jake Gyllenhaal was a guest on today's episode of Live with Kelly and Ryan to talk about the play he will be starring in on Broadway, Sea Wall/A Life.

This week, ahead of the arrival of the world's best-loved musical, GREASE a 1959 pink Cadillac rolled in to Birmingham's Brindley Place bringing those Summer Nights to the people of Brum.

Yesterday when the front of house for SEA WALL / A LIFE went up at the Hudson Theatre, the play's stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Tom Sturridge dropped by to check out their brand-new marquee!

In a break from rehearsals of Sea Wall / A Life, Jake Gyllenhaal and Tom Sturridge had some fun performing a song to help clear up any confusion about the play's full title.

TV presenter and winner of Strictly Come Dancing, Ore Oduba, will play the role of Teen Angel at additional dates on the UK and Ireland tour of GREASE. Ore alternates the role with Peter Andre. As previously announced, Ore will play the role on 24 & 25 June and from 29 June to 16 July at Leeds Grand, the opening venue of the tour. In addition, Ore will perform at Birmingham Hippodrome on 19, 20 23 & 24 August and King's Theatre, Glasgow from 27 to 31 August.

London's international festival of contemporary dance takes place across the capital from 8 - 27 October 2019.

According to the New York Times, Sea Wall / A LIFE, written by Simon Stephens and Nick Payne respectively and directed by Carrie Cracknell, will transfer to Broadway next season. Starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Tom Sturridge, it will begin performances on July 26 and will open on August 8. The limited engagement will conclude on September 29.

Three of the UK's most exciting young actors - Luke Thallon, Matthew Needham and Isabella Laughland - will appear in Kate Hewitt's new production of Mike Bartlett's COCK, which will play in the round at Chichester's Minerva Theatre from 28 September - 27 October. They will be joined by Simon Chandler, whose most recent Chichester appearance was in Festival 2017's The Stepmother. This will be the first revival of Bartlett's Olivier Award-winning play since its 2009 premiere at the Royal Court.
