Works & Process, the performing arts series at the Guggenheim, has announced June premieres for Works & Process Artists (WPA) Virtual Commissions.

Works & Process, the performing arts series at the Guggenheim, believes in the transformative power of art. Tonight they will now highlight Cooped by Jamar Roberts, a Works & Process Artists #WPAVirtualCommission that premiered on May 24.

This weekend, Works & Process, the performing arts series at the Guggenheim, presented the premieres of Cooped by Jamar Roberts and OH, LIGHT by Brandon Stirling Baker

The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts' Jerome Robbins Dance Division is accepting applications for its fifth class of Dance Research Fellows, generously funded by the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, the Louise Guthman Estate, the Frederick Loewe Foundation and the Committee for the Dance Division.

To financially support artists and nurture their creative process during these challenging times, Works & Process, the performing arts series at the Guggenheim, announces Works & Process Virtual Commissions. With the generosity of our board, Works & Process will grant over $40,000 in commissioning funds to artists.

Works & Process, the performing arts series at the Guggenheim, presents a Virtual Works & Process: In Process with Ephrat Asherie Dance on Sunday, April 26, 2020 at 7:30pm. The event is free, but space is limited and RSVP is required; a Zoom link and password will be emailed the day of the performance.

The United States Artists (USA) announced today that dancer/ choreographer Dianne McIntyre is one of fifty recipients of their 2020 USA Fellow award. Each of the fifty recipients will receive a $50,000 cash award of unrestricted funds.

In celebration of 75 years of the Jerome Robbins Dance Division of the New York Public Library, From the Horse's Mouth will dedicate its next theater/dance performance event to the history of this storied institution and the establishment of its international dance archive. Rare film footage, videos and multimedia will enhance this edition of From the Horse's Mouth and its unique blend of movement and storytelling.

Salaam, co-founder and director of Forces of Nature Dance Theater. There will be four days of performances by thirty-three contemporary choreographers from across the United States. The Festival will take place October 3 through October 6 at the Ailey Citigroup Theater, 405 West 55th Street, in New York City. The 2019 American Dance Guild Festival is dedicated to past ADG President Muriel Manings.

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater is currently bringing audiences to their feet in London during over two dozen international performances this month.  From the Sadler's Wells Theatre this Friday, Rehearsal Director Matthew Rushing will host a live stream masterclass teaching excerpts of Rennie Harris' Lazarus, involving dance studios across the United Kingdom and open to students around the world via the internet.

DANCE NOW announces the lineup for the 2019 Festival ENCORE! The one-night-only performance will feature the 10 choreographers/companies selected by the DANCE NOW producers for having most successfully met the 2019 DANCE NOW Challenge: to create a clear and complete artistic statement in five minutes or less for the specifics of the stage at Joe's Pub. This year's Challenge winner is Nicole Vaughan-Diaz. As the Challenge winner, Vaughan-Diaz will receive a $1,500 stipend and a weeklong creative residency at DANCE NOW Silo on Kirkland Farm in Bucks County, PA. The ENCORE! program will be hosted by Deborah Lohse (aka TruDee).

The NY Dance and Performance Awards, The Bessies, New York City's premier dance awards honoring outstanding creative work in the field, announced today that Obie and Bessie Award winner Justin Vivian Bond, hailed by The New Yorker as “the best cabaret artist of their generation,' will host the 2019 awards ceremony. The performers and award presenters were also revealed.
