Jacob's Pillow Announces Recipient of New Annual Fellowship In Partnership With Tilles Center

Ephrat "Bounce" Asherie, Artistic Director of Ephrat Asherie Dance, is awarded the inaugural Jacob's Pillow Fellowship at Tilles Center for the Performing Arts at LIU Post. The fellowship includes a $15,000 grant, a one-week residency at Jacob's Pillow's new Pillow Lab, and a residency at LIU Tilles Center. Executive Vice Chairman Roger Tilles was integral in making this new partnership between Jacob's Pillow and Long Island University possible.

Emd Personifies Creation And Collaboration With Two Evenings Of Original Works

Elisa Monte Dance (EMD), the newest organization to call Harlem home, will return to City College's Aaron Davis Hall for two original evenings of collaborative works in celebration of their 37th season. Artistic Director Tiffany Rea-Fisher, who succeeded founder Elisa Monte in 2016, will present her newest work The Best-Self Project, a full-length premiere on March 16. Rea-Fisher has also curated a mixed-bill program on March 17 that will showcase a collection of new and restaged works featuring celebrated icons Tony Danza, Clifton Brown, Ayodele Casel, and more.

Ana 'RokafelIa' Garcia and Gabriel 'Kwikstep' Dionisio to Receive the 2018 ADF Distinguished Teaching Award

The American Dance Festival (ADF) will award the 2018 Balasaraswati/Joy Anne Dewey Beinecke Endowed Chair for Distinguished Teaching to two central figures in the breaking community, celebrated hip-hop dance artists Ana 'Rokafella' Garcia and Gabriel “Kwikstep” Dionisio. A ceremony will take place on Wednesday, June 27, 2018. Time and location TBD.

From Prince Igor to Black Square pushes the boundaries between classics and avant-garde, juxtaposing classic scenes from the audience' beloved classic Russian operas with the premiere of the first act of the new opera Black Square. The Tank (Meghan Finn and Rosalind Grush, Artistic Directors) in association with Rebel Playhouse is thrilled to present the World Premiere of LOUDMOUTH, a new devised show for young audiences, directed by Suzannah Gratz and Clara Kundin with choreography by Phoebe Rose Sandford, at The Tank's new home at 312 West 36th Street. Performances will be Today, November 16 at 6:30pm, Friday, November 17 at 6:30pm, Saturday, November 18 at 10am, and Sunday, November 19 at 2pm. Weekend shows will be followed by an optional workshop for kids. Tickets ($30 for adults; $20 for children) are available for advance purchase at www.thetanknyc.org.
