Audiences attending the national tour of ON YOUR FEET! at Artis–Naples in Naples, Florida were in for a surprise when the 26-time Grammy Award-winning husband and wife team, Gloria and Emilio Estefan took their seats to see the musical that they originally created and produced on Broadway. Musical artists will join the national library and American leaders to honor music legend Joni Mitchell. The lineup will include performances by James Taylor, Brandi Carlile, Annie Lennox, Herbie Hancock, Cyndi Lauper, Marcus Mumford, Graham Nash, Diana Krall and Angelique Kidjo. The concert is by invitation only.

Musical legends Dolly Parton and Dionne Warwick are having their first ever collaboration with their recording of a gospel duet entitled ‘Peace Like A River,” which Dolly wrote and Damon Elliott, Dionne’s son/manager produced for AND CUT… Productions. They are filming a video now in Nashville to accompany the musical release.

Beginning on Thursday, February 16, theatergoers will be able to visit Wheel and Come Again: The 50th Anniversary Art Exhibition of The Harder They Come on The Public Theater’s Levin Mezzanine, an exhibition of art inspired by the original film.

Nominations have been announced for the 37th Helen Hayes Awards, which will be presented on Monday, May 22. Nominees include productions from Arena Stage, Signature Theatre, GALA Hispanic Theatre and more.

The song “Gonna Be You” (R.A.F/BMG) is written by iconic Honorary Oscar®, Grammy and Emmy Award-winning songwriter Diane Warren and produced by Damon Elliott. The official music video accompanying the song features movie footage interspersed with segments of each singer performing and wearing a blinged out Tom Brady football jersey.

On Your Feet! The Story of Emilio and Gloria Estefan is sweeping the nation in it's second national tour. Today BroadwayWorld was able to sit down with Director and Choreographer, Luis Salgado to learn about the journey this production has taken.

'This highly personal story would be nothing without a deep connection to family. Francisca Tapia's (Gloria Fajardo) voice was phenomenal but her acting was so realistic she moved the audience from being slightly annoyed with her to being frustrated when Gloria refuses to speak to her daughter, and finally to empathizing with her as she worries about her daughter's life. She did a magnificent job at being a stubborn, misunderstood, mother. When it is finally revealed that she had given up on her own dreams for the sake of her family the audience was so endeared by her acting they couldn't help but have a change of heart.' BWW.
