On April 27-30, Gemma New reunites with the New Jersey Symphony to conduct Berlioz's Symphonie fantastique, Rachmaninoff's Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini featuring internationally-renowned pianist George Li, and Sarah Gibson's warp & weft. Known for her dynamic and engaging performances, New served as both the Assistant Conductor from 2009 to 2013 and then as the Associate Conductor from 2013 to 2016 for the Symphony and was recently appointed Artistic Advisor and Principal Conductor of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra.
Vermont Symphony Orchestra Announces Andrew Crust As New Music Director

Now in its 89th year, the Vermont Symphony Orchestra has announced the appointment of Andrew Crust as its fifth Music Director. Crust was selected out of a pool of seven finalist candidates and succeeds Jaime Laredo, who stepped down from the position in 2021 after a twenty-year tenure leading the orchestra. Crust’s first concert as the VSO’s Music Director will take place on September 30, 2023 at the Flynn in Burlington.

The San Diego Symphony today announced its winter-spring 2022 concert season, offering 31 performances of classical and contemporary masterworks and chamber music from January 15 through May 28. Presented as “Hear Us Here,” the season will give the San Diego Symphony the opportunity to bring its music to a wider audience, with concerts performed at nine venues in the city and across the County, including the Symphony's newest venue, The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park.
