Steinway Society - The Bay Area Unveils 32nd Season Lineup

Steinway Society – The Bay Area has announced its 2026–2027 concert season, featuring a lineup of internationally acclaimed artists alongside emerging pianists. All performances will take place at the Visual and Performing Arts Center in Cupertino, California, with a Home Concert option offering on-demand access to recorded performances for a limited time following each event.

SUBSCRIPTIONS AND TICKETS

Six-concert subscriptions range from $305 to $405 for general admission and $275 to $370 for seniors and students. Three-concert subscriptions range from $165 to $225 for general admission and $145 to $195 for seniors and students. Single tickets will be available beginning June 9, with prices ranging from $58 to $78 for general admission and $53 to $73 for seniors and students. PROGRAM 1: WORLDS AWAY

Angel Stanislav Wang will perform on Sunday, September 27, 2026 at 2:30 p.m. The program includes Granados’ Goyescas, Op. 11 No. 4 (“Quejas o la Maja y el Ruiseñor”), Liszt’s Piano Sonata in B Minor, Debussy’s Estampes, and Stravinsky’s Three Movements from Petrushka.

PROGRAM 2: REVERENCE AND BRILLIANCE

Tony Siqi Yun will perform on Sunday, October 11, 2026 at 2:30 p.m. The program features Bach/Busoni’s Prelude “Ich ruf zu Dir, Herr Jesu Christ,” BWV 639 and Chaconne from Partita No. 2 in D minor, Liszt’s Bénédiction de Dieu dans la solitude, Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 27 in E minor, Op. 90, and Brahms’ Variations on a Theme of Paganini, Op. 35.

PROGRAM 3: GALLERY OF DREAMS

George Li will perform on Sunday, November 8, 2026 at 2:30 p.m. The program includes Schumann’s Abegg Variations, Op. 1 and Davidsbündlertänze, Op. 6, Debussy’s Images, Book 1, and Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition.

PROGRAM 4: VIRTUOSO VISIONS

Sophia Liu will perform on Sunday, February 21, 2027 at 2:30 p.m. The program includes Chopin’s Ballade No. 1 in G minor, Polonaise in A-flat major, Nocturne in B major, and Scherzo in C-sharp minor, along with Balakirev’s Islamey and works by Liszt including Valse de l’opéra Faust de Gounod, Hungarian Rhapsody No. 12, and Spanish Fantasy.

PROGRAM 5: REFLECTIONS ON THE WALTZ

Steven Osborne will perform on Sunday, April 18, 2027 at 2:30 p.m. The program includes Schumann’s Papillons, Op. 2, Satie’s Gymnopédie No. 3, works by Lili Boulanger and Lyadov, Kreisler-Rachmaninoff’s Liebesleid, Ravel’s Valses nobles et sentimentales, and Beethoven’s 33 Variations on a Waltz by Diabelli.

PROGRAM 6: POWER AND PRECISION

Vitaly Starikov will perform on Saturday, May 15, 2027 at 7:30 p.m. The program includes Mendelssohn’s Piano Sonata No. 1 in E Major, Bartók’s Piano Sonata, Debussy’s Images, Book 2, and selections from Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet along with Toccata, Op. 11.
