Misalliance Repertory Theatre, a new company formed by members of the former ShawChicago ensemble, has launched its first production. Their 25-minute audio play performance of Shaw’s wacky and little-known one-act gem THE MUSIC CURE is now streaming on the company’s website and is also available on Stitcher and Spotify.

She will be joined by an exciting ensemble of new and returning actors including David Breyman (Shakespeare in Love at Tacoma Arts Live) as Charles VIII, Ben Stahl (Frankenstein) as the Inquisitor, Eric Cuestas-Thompson (Ghosts) as the Chaplain, and Tacoma theatre mainstay Joseph Grant as Cauchon.
This hour-long play has had may incarnations, most notably in a 1979 ITV production, starring Richard Briers as 'A' and Dame Judi Dench, a Shaw Society vice-president, as 'Z'.

Available only until Sunday night (per hyper-strict Equity guidelines), it features three of DC’s great talents and offers us a tantalizing glimpse of what kind of fare the Washington Stage Guild will serve up, live and onstage, come the Fall.
Streaming for free May 19-23, How He Lied to Her by George Bernard Shaw is presented by the Washington Stage Guild. Set in a London drawing room, the play is a witty look at the love triangle as only Shaw could envision it. The play has often been interpreted as a kind of satirical commentary on Shaw's own highly successful earlier play Candida, which one of the characters gets tickets to see.

3rd Act Theatre Company closes their excellent second season with HEARTBREAK HOUSE. This comical farce from 1920 follows the eccentric Shotover family in an impromptu dinner party in Sussex, at the dawn of World War I. These vapid and self-centered characters are fun to watch on stage. The superb cast banters and incites laughs through Act III.
Following the success of Season 2:POWER, Season 3 will again include two 'seasons': Mainstage and Noire. Season 3 Mainstage shows are: The Red Lamp by Hilliard Booth, Little Women by Louisa May Alcott and adapted by Scott Davidson, An Ideal Husband by Oscar Wilde, and Sherlock Holmes adapted by Tim Kelly.
