Misalliance Repertory Theatre Launches With THE MUSIC CURE

Misalliance  Repertory Theatre, a new company formed by members of the former ShawChicago ensemble, has launched its first production. Their 25-minute audio play performance of Shaw’s wacky and little-known one-act gem THE MUSIC CURE is now streaming on the company’s website and is also available on Stitcher and Spotify.

Casting Announced For New Muses' SAINT JOAN

The cast is led by returning company member Cassie Jo Fastabend (New Muses' Lysistrata) in the role of Joan. She will be joined by an exciting ensemble of new and returning actors including David Breyman (Shakespeare in Love at Tacoma Arts Live) as Charles VIII, Ben Stahl (Frankenstein) as the Inquisitor, Eric Cuestas-Thompson (Ghosts) as the Chaplain, and Tacoma theatre mainstay Joseph Grant as Cauchon.

Pop-Up Performances of ALL'S WELL THAT ENDS WELL to be Presented by Madison Shakespeare Company

Madison Shakespeare Company will present two special pop-up performances this July in anticipation of the summer premiere of the full-length comedy All's Well That Ends Well. The events are scheduled for 7 PM Thursday July 8 on the Stone Horse Green in downtown Middleton, and 5 PM Saturday July 10 at Everyday Kitchen on Madison's Near West side.

The Classic Theatre Announces 2021-2022 Season

The Classic Theatre has announced their 2021-2022 season, Season 14: Love & Marriage. Each production will be performed on Thursdays-Sundays at San Antonio Botanical Garden, Located at 555 Funston Pl. San Antonio, TX 78209.

Gingold Theatrical Group will continue its new play development with the Phase 1 Plays-In-Progress virtual table readings of this year's SPEAKER'S CORNER Writers Group. This season, Kate Douglas, Aeneas Sagar Hemphill, Divya Mangwani, Seth McNeill, Sophie Sagan-Gutherz, and Marcus Scott are developing works in response to Shaw's Arms and the Man.

BWW Interview: Bringing HOW HE LIED TO HER HUSBAND to the Digital Stage

Streaming for free May 19-23, How He Lied to Her by George Bernard Shaw is presented by the Washington Stage Guild. Set in a London drawing room, the play is a witty look at the love triangle as only Shaw could envision it. The play has often been interpreted as a kind of satirical commentary on Shaw's own highly successful earlier play Candida, which one of the characters gets tickets to see.

The Eternal Ego Festival Announced

The new programming venture will showcase nine conceptual adaptations of multi-character works, in which all roles will be played by a single actor, and in two cases by two actors, using in-person, virtual or hybrid platforms. Works will premiere gradually over the next two seasons, alongside TIFT’s regular scope of programming.

BWW Review: 3rd Act's HEARTBREAK HOUSE is Witty and Wild

3rd Act Theatre Company closes their excellent second season with HEARTBREAK HOUSE. This comical farce from 1920 follows the eccentric Shotover family in an impromptu dinner party in Sussex, at the dawn of World War I. These vapid and self-centered characters are fun to watch on stage. The superb cast banters and incites laughs through Act III.

3rd Act Theatre Company Announces Season 3: UNKNOWN

Following the success of Season 2:POWER, Season 3 will again include two 'seasons': Mainstage and Noire. Season 3 Mainstage shows are: The Red Lamp by Hilliard Booth, Little Women by Louisa May Alcott and adapted by Scott Davidson, An Ideal Husband by Oscar Wilde, and Sherlock Holmes adapted by Tim Kelly.
