Its greater significance lies in the fact that The Beach Boys' songs forever changed the musical landscape, profoundly influencing countless performing artists.

The McCallum Theatre welcomes the hit Broadway musical WAITRESS, inspired by the beloved film, for five performances, taking place Friday, December 6, through Sunday, December 8. The performance on Friday, December 6, is made possible through by the generosity of Jerry and Sarah Mathews.

The McCallum Theatre presents Mannheim Steamroller Christmas by Chip Davis for two performances on Friday, November 29, at 3:00pm and 8:00pm. Mannheim Steamroller Christmas by Chip Davis has been America's favorite holiday tradition for over 30 years. Grammy winner Chip Davis has created a show featuring Mannheim Steamroller Christmas classics along with compositions from Chip's Fresh Aire series which introduced the distinctive Mannheim sound to America. Dazzling multimedia effects are performed in an intimate setting as the spirit of the season comes alive with the signature sound of Mannheim Steamroller.

From the songwriting team behind the smash hit Tony Award-winning musicalDear Evan Hansen and the Academy Award-winning film La La Land, A Christmas Story, The Musical,brings the classic 1983 movie to hilarious life on stage at the McCallum Theatre for three performances a?" Tuesday, November 26, at 8:00pm, and Wednesday, November 27, at 2:00pm and 8:00pm.

The McCallum Theatre presents The Highwaymen a?" A Musical Tribute featuring Waylon, Willie and Johnny on Sunday, November 24, at 3:00 pm. Perhaps the greatest super-group in country music history, the original Highwaymen, formed in 1985 and consisted of Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash. This recreation of that amazing band continues the legacy with tributes to Waylon, Willie and Johnny. You will see the friendship and comradery that existed between these legends, reliving great moments in country music history. Combining their unique approaches to life and recording, they traveled the world performing country music to millions of fans.

The Hershey Community Chorus will be performing its Christmas concerts, “Now Is the Caroling Season” on Friday evening, December 13, 2019, at 7:00 PM, in The Hershey Story, 63 W. Chocolate Avenue, Hershey. 

The McCallum Theatre announced today its new lineup for the 2019-2020 season, continuing to present the finest world-class artists and entertainers for Coachella Valley audiences.  The new season includes McCallum debuts, returning favorites, iconic superstars, family-friendly entertainment and holiday cheer, among so much more. A CHRISTMAS STORY, WAITRESS and THE PLAY THAT GOES WORING are among the many Broadway offerings in what looks to be the most stellar season in McCallum history.

The McCallum Theatre presents the annual "Tribute to Glenn Miller and the Big Band Leaders" on Wednesday, March 27, 8:00pm. This year's tribute, stars the Tex Beneke Orchestra and features The Satin Dollz and Madeline Vergari.

 McCallum Theatre Education is excited to announce the 2019 OPEN CALL TALENT PROJECT! Dedicated to presenting local, non-professional artists, Open Call has gone on to become one of the most popular events in the valley. This annual sell-out show is an audience favorite and fun for the entire family.

Veteran Tommy Anderson of Norco, California is the author of the military thriller Haboob Wind which has been optioned with Global Edge Pictures, currently in pre-production. Earlier today, BroadwayWorld was saddened to report the passing of the legendary Carol Channing. Channing died at 12:31am on Tuesday, January 15th, 2019, at home in Rancho Mirage, CA of natural causes.

BroadwayWorld was sad to announce the passing of theatre icon Carol Channing early Tuesday morning. She was most notably known for creating the legendary role of Dolly Levi in Hello, Dolly, a role she went on to play in more than 5,000 performances.

THE BANG GROUP'S delightfully offbeat Nut/Cracked returns for its 16th Anniversary Season with an ensemble of 21 dancers spreading holiday cheer.  David Parker's comic, neo-vaudeville version of 'The Nutcracker' will return for three performances, December 20-22, at The Flea in downtown Manhattan.  Special guests for the season are students from The Dalton School, Frank Sinatra high School for the Performing Arts, and e.g. dance.

The McCallum Theatre will kick off its fourth decade with the Seventh Annual McCallum Theatre Family Fun Day set for Sunday, October 21, 2018 featuring a performance of the critically-acclaimed Erth's Prehistoric Aquarium Adventure.  Proceeds from this special annual event will support theatre operations including the McCallum Theatre Education, the Theatre's award-winning arts education program that provides arts training to 40,000 students and educators annually, serving 70% of Coachella Valley classrooms.  The Co-Presenting Sponsors of Family Fun Day are The City of Palm Desert and The H.N. and Frances C. Berger Foundation.

The McCallum Theatre recently announced its new lineup as it begins its fourth decade of presenting world-class artists and entertainers for Coachella Valley audiences. The new season includes McCallum debuts, iconic superstars, family-friendly entertainment, holiday sensations, and an outstanding roster of Broadway favorites including Jersey Boys, Spamalot and Something Rotten. I had the opportunity to catch up with McCallum President and CEO, Mitch Gershenfeld, to reflect on a very successful 2017-18 season and to get his thoughts on the blockbuster season ahead. (I will say at the start, I am a big fan of Mr. Gershenfeld for consistently bringing diverse and high-quality entertainment to desert audiences and for his constant optimism and positive energy.) Here are a few excerpts from our interview:

The McCallum Theatre announced today its new lineup as it begins its fourth decade of presenting world-class artists and entertainers for Coachella Valley audiences.  The new season includes McCallum debuts, iconic superstars, family-friendly entertainment, holiday sensations, with some mariachi, Bollywood, ballet, comedy and entertaining geography lessons all part of a very full and exciting season that also presents an outstanding roster of  Broadway favorites. 

The performance by WILLIE NELSON, originally scheduled for this evening, January 8, 2018, at 8:00 PM, has been cancelled due to illness. A replacement date is being sought, but none has been scheduled as of yet. Anyone holding a ticket for the Willie Nelson performance may either hold on to the ticket pending a new date or may return their ticket for a refund or exchange.
