On Friday 20 May 2022, Heresy Records will release Steinway artist Ji Liu's Sonata Fantasy, The Book of Moments which premiered live from 7am on 31 December 2020, until 1am on 1 January 2021, in Qinhuangdao, a town on the east coast of China at the Wave Lounge, Seatopia Cultural Community, concurrently streamed live on YouTube.
The Book of Moments, is structurally a Sonata Fantasy, comprised of 21 chapters with an exposition, development, recapitulation and a coda bridging contemporary/new classical and minimalism. Sections where the pianist is free to improvise on the thematic musical material are also present.
The Naumburg Orchestral Concerts announced the lineup for their 117th season today - The Knights, Handel and Haydn Society, A Far Cry, The Knights return with violinist Lara St. John and East Coast Chamber Orchestra (ECCO) closes out the 2022 season.
