White Wave Dance Announces Three Free Performances Of IYOUUSWE II

WHITE WAVE Dance has announced three free performances of their newest production, iyouuswe II (I-You-Us-We-Two), on October 1, 9, and 30, 2021 at Bethesda Fountain, DUMBO Archway, and the Home of WHITE WAVE Dance, respectively, at 5pm EST as part of the City Artist Corps Grant Initiative.

Classic Stage Company's ASSASSINS to Begin Performances in November

Classic Stage Company has announced that John Doyle’s staging of Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman’s Assassins will run November 2, 2021, through January 8, 2022, and will officially open on November 14. BWW Review: SOPHIA, Sound Stage

Sophia tells the story of Sophia Jex-Blake, a formidable woman who battled for a woman's right to a medical education and license and who went on to become the first practising female doctor in Scotland. In 1869 Blake applied for admission to the Medical Faculty of the University of Edinburgh, only for her application to be rejected on the grounds that the University could not make the necessary arrangements 'in the interest of one lady'. Poet’s inspiring new play tells the story of Blake’s campaign and the struggles for her and her fellow women to secure the right to a medical education.
