On Saturday, November 12th at 8 pm, ten-time Academy Award-winning masterpiece, The Godfather, will be screened and performed with a 61-piece orchestra in celebration of the iconic film's 50th anniversary, produced by CineConcerts and presented by Massimo Gallotta Productions.
The show has lyrics and music by Zeca Baleiro and Newton Moreno, with musical direction by Marco França and features Cassio Scapin as the corrupt and demagogue Odorico Paraguacu, candidate for mayor of Sucupira. As there is no cemetery in the city, which forces residents to bury their dead in neighboring municipalities, the politician is elected with the slogan “Vote for a serious man and win a cemetery”!
The film is written and directed by Felix van Groeningen and Charlotte Vandermeersch. It is produced by Mario Gianani and Lorenzo Gangarossa for Wildside, a Fremantle Company, co-produced with Belgium’s Rufus and Menuetto, France Pyramide Pictures and Vision Distribution and produced in collaboration with the U.K.’s Elastic and with Sky.
