The Public Theater Announces Block Party and Open House, 10/13

The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis and Executive Director Patrick Willingham) will continue to celebrate the $40 million revitalization of its downtown home at Astor Place on Saturday, October 13 with a free block party and open house from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

German Producer/Songwriter/DJ ZEDD Releases First Album

German EDM producer/DJ/songwriter, Zedd, is set to release his full-length debut album today October 2nd on iTunes as a one-week exclusive before releasing wide to all retail partners on October 9th. Check out the new track 'Clarity' as iTunes 'Free Single of the Week'. The album also includes the wildly popular track 'Spectrum' Feat. Matthew Koma, which held the #1 spot on Beatport for 18 days and hit #1 on the Billboard Dance Club chart. The album was recorded over an 8-month period from January through August 2012, and features collaborations with Ellie Goulding, Ryan Tedder and Foxes. Today also sees the premiere of Zedd's new video for the track 'Stache' directed by Roboto.

Public Theater Celebrates Revitalization of Astor Place with Free Block Party and Open House, 10/13

The Public Theater's $40 million revitalization of its downtown home at Astor Place will be unveiled October 4, 2012 and celebrated through a series of events designed to engage the entire New York community and marking a rededication to its founding principles. The eight weeks of community events will be anchored by a free block party and open house on Saturday, October 13, 12pm-5pm, during which Lafayette Street between Astor Place and East 4th Street will be partially closed to traffic and The Public's historic building will be open to all. A physical expression of the Company's core mission of sparking dialogues, fostering artistic development and experimentation, and increasing public accessibility, the revitalization project opens up the landmark building to the street and community, and transforms the lobby into a public piazza for artists, students, and audiences.

Williamstown Theatre Festival Artistic Director Jenny Gersten has announced today the full cast and creative teams for the first two productions of the 2012 season: The Importance of Being Earnest and the World Premiere of The Blue Deep. The Importance of Being Earnest will be presented on the Main Stage from June 26 through July 14 (opening June 28) and The Blue Deep will grace the Nikos Stage from June 27 through July 8 (opening June 28). Both casts arrived in Williamstown today for their first rehearsals on the bucolic Williams College campus in preparation for the runs of these exciting and unique productions at the Festival.
