Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) announces the 22nd annual series of new plays, now virtual, by TRU writers produced by TRU producers, as part of TRU Voices New Plays Virtual Reading Series. Presented with generous support from The StoyLine Project, the plays will be performed on Sundays, June 20, June 27, and July 11, 2021 at 3:00pm.

Just in time for Halloween Caitlin Baer will present a reading of her dark play The Society featuring Sophia Anne Caruso (Beetlejuice), Nikhil Saboo (Mean Girls), and Nathan Salstone (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child).

Between The Bars , a new play by Lynn Clay Byrne , directed by Benjamin Viertel , will begin performances on March 23 in advance of its opening night on March 31 and will initially run through April 25 at HERE Arts Center (145 Sixth Avenue). Sci-Fi fans and conspiracy theorists are getting their very own musical comedy this Summer, as ILLUMINATI LIZARDS FROM OUTER SPACE descends upon Manhattan - as part of the New York Musical Festival, July 8 - 13th at the Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre. The production features Music & Lyrics by Yuri Worontschak and Book & Lyrics by Paul Western-Pittard. Joey Murray directs. Casting is soon to be announced.

An industry presentation of RE-WIRE will be held on Thursday, May 9th at 3pm & 7pm in New York City. Midnight Theatricals and S. Asher Gelman, producer of the original pop/rock musical and teen horror comedy We Are The Tigers, have announced that a cast album is in the works and will be released on April 26 through Broadway Records, the Grammy-winning record label dedicated to preserving musical theatre and theatre vocalists The album is available for pre-order at BroadwayRecords.com.

Midnight Theatricals has annouced an updated performance schedule and released a new trailer for WE ARE THE TIGERS, the original pop/rock musical and teen horror comedy written & composed by Preston Max Allen and produced by S. Asher Gelman, that will open Off-Broadway at Theater 80 (80 St. Mark's Place) tonight at 8:00PM Michael Bello directs the pitch-black comedy about a dismally low-ranking team of cheerleaders trying to survive the night while being terrorized by a serial killer.
