Theatre [502] continues its Small Batch Series with a staged reading of Sorrow's End by Nathaniel Lachenmeyer on October 23 at 7 p.m. at The Vault, 1031 S. 6th, following a four-day workshop process led by Theatre [502] Co-Artistic Director Amy Attaway.

Vital Theatre Company and HIT Entertainment are pleased to announce the return of the yuletide hit, Angelina Ballerina The Very Merry Holiday Musical, to the McGinn/Cazale Theatre at 2162 Broadway from November 16th - January 5th, 2014. The show, with book and lyrics by Susan DiLallo, music by Ben Morss, and direction and choreography by Sam Viverito, is based on the famous dancing mouseling and her friends created by Katharine Holabird and illustrated by Helen Craig. Angelina and her friends will return to the Vital stage with a special 'red carpet' press opening on November 16th. Performances continue November 17 through January 5th on Selected Saturdays and Sundays at 3:30 pm.

Ruth Wilson (Saving Mr Banks, Anna Christie, A Streetcar Named Desire, Luther, The Lone Ranger) will star in the London premiere of The El. Train: three one-act plays by Eugene O'Neill (The Web, Before Breakfast and The Dreamy Kid). The plays, written between 1913 and 1918, are being presented together for the first time. Ruth will act in The Web and Before Breakfast, directed by Sam Yates, and will make her directorial debut with The Dreamy Kid. Combining live music with immersive design, all housed in the intimate setting of Grade II listed Hoxton Hall (built 1863, seating an audience of 125), The El. Train will run for a limited four-week season from 6 December - 30 December, with press nights on the 12 & 13 December. Design is by Richard Kent, with lighting by Neil Austin and original composition and sound design by Alex Baranowski. The El. Train is being produced by Found Productions. Further casting will be announced shortly.

54 Below, Broadway's Supper Club, presents Cabaret and Broadway favorites Jeff Harnar, Linda Hart, Nicolas King and Jennifer Sheehan in 'COME FLY WITH ME' on November 21, 2013. The evening is a centenary celebration of the lyrics of Sammy Cahn and the music of Jimmy Van Heusen and was conceived and directed by Grammy and Emmy Award winner, John McDaniel, during his first season as artistic director of the O'Neill Theater Center's Cabaret and Performance conference. Mr. McDaniel makes his New York directorial debut with this show.

The Daily Mail reports that Ruth Wilson (Saving Mr. Banks) will soon be starring onstage in two plays by Eugene O'Neill -- Before Breakfast and The Web. She will also make her theatre directorial debut with O'Neill's The Dreamy Kid. All of the pieces will be performed at Hoxton Hall in London, December 5-30, 2013.

The Pearlman Sisters will present Devotedly, Sincerely Yours: The Story of the USO as part of the By Local series at The Annenberg Center tonight and tomorrow, October 18-19.

Variety reports that Oscar-winning and Tony-nominated stage and screen powerhouse Meryl Streep will receive the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center's annual Monte Cristo award for her distinguished contributions to theater. Streep will be presented the Monte Cristo award by actor and Yale School of Drama classmate Joe Grifasi on April 21, 2014 in New York City.

For the second time, THE BOOK OF MORMON, winner of nine Tony Awardsincluding Best Musical, has broken the house record in Austin, TX for the week ending October 13 at Bass Hall grossing $1,643,268.00. THE BOOK OF MORMON first broke the record the week ending October 6.

Center Stage celebrates the Opening Night of Marcus Gardley's dance of the holy ghosts on Wednesday, October 16. Under the direction of Artistic Director Kwame Kwei-Armah, the production runs through November 17.

Sandglass Theater's New Visions Puppetry Series welcomes the return of Finn Campman's Of Bread and Paper. The Ruckus's follow-up to their Jeff-Recommended production of Facing Angela will be a revamped version of their first Chicago production, Heist Play. Through a workshop and development process in 2013, this production has undergone significant rewrites by playwright Mitch Vermeersch since its 2009 world premiere. It will again be staged by that production's director, Allison Shoemaker, and performed at The Side Project Theater today, October 12- November 10, 2013, the intimate storefront venue where both the play and company began.
