The John W. Engeman Theater announces the cast and creative team for BUDDY -THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY. Performances begin on Thursday, January 17 and run through Sunday, March 3, 2019.

Global announced today that it has commissioned a new Canadian original six-part event series, Departure. Produced by Shaftesbury and Greenpoint Productions Ltd., the thrilling drama is directed by Canadian Screen Award Winner T.J. Scott (Orphan Black, Star Trek: Discovery), with Malcolm MacRury (Saving Hope) joining as showrunner, and created by Vincent Shiao (Ransom, Aftermath). With principal photography now underway in Toronto, the Canada/UK co- production will also shoot in London, England. The project was developed by Shaftesbury in association with Corus Entertainment and Red Arrow Studios International.

When Rock n' Roll burst onto the scene in the late 1950s, it brought with it a veritable revolution in American popular music. Seen by some as 'the Devil's music,' by others as a passing fad, this vibrant, electric sound proved itself a lasting phenomenon. Maine State Music Theatre opens its 60thseason with a new title to the Pickard Stage. Million Dollar Quartet is produced in association with the Fulton Theatre and is the electrifying story of how four stars made music history! Million Dollar Quartet runs from June 6 to June 23.

On Friday, Nov 25th, President and Founder of The Hollywood Museum, Donelle Dadigan, hosted an eclectic and elite list of Hollywood entertainers who gathered to decorate Christmas trees at The Hollywood Museum, on the second floor surrounded by the current 'Child Stars: Then and Now Exhibit. On November 6th, dozens of cast members from the national tour of Newsies will reunite on the stage of Feinstein's/54 Below with The Newsboys' Variety Show. Audiences can expect to be dazzled by a variety of musical styles, dancing, and other special talents on display.

Music Theatre of Connecticut, Fairfield County's professional award-winning theatre company, celebrates their 30th anniversary with a one night only evening of food, drink and entertainment. The 30th Anniversary Celebration is set for Saturday, October 15, with food and drink at 6:30pm, followed by a performance in MTC's cozy 110-seat theatre. Tickets are extremely limited and proceeds benefit MTC and its programming.

This fall, the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts transforms much of its campus into a lively Little Italy themed street party as it celebrates For The Record: Scorsese - American Crime Requiem. The Wallis and For The Record-the acclaimed company that began in a small bar in East Hollywood in 2010 and whose performances have quickly become must see shows-combine forces to pay homage to the visceral world of Martin Scorsese in a new co production that revolutionizes the musical theater experience and brings the legendary filmmaker's epic soundtracks to life in a new generation cabaret, from September 21 through October 16. From the moment audiences arrive at The Wallis, the immersive experience begins with special pre show festivities, continuing through an exhilarating performance, and finishing with post show gatherings that feature specially curated entertainment.

The Hollywood Museum has teamed up with over 50 former child stars to offer the public, for the first time, two exciting and rare experiences.  The 'Child Stars - Then and Now' exhibit will open to the public on Thurs, August 19th.  Additionally, a two day exclusive child star themed autograph show on Sat, August 20th & Sun, August 21st, that involves what may be the largest collection of child stars ever in one place, for a good cause - A Minor Consideration.

Now IS the time to seize the day! BroadwayWorld has learned that Disney will film NEWSIES this August, at the Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles. Returning for the filming will be original Broadway cast members Jeremy Jordan and Kara Lindsay. The production, currently on tour plays the Pantages from Aug. 30, 2016 - Sept. 4, 2016. There is no word yet if the production is headed towards the big or small screen, or who else might be joining or re-joining the cast for the filming.

Casting has been announced for the Charlotte engagement of Disney's  NEWSIES.   The Tony® Award-winning production will begin performances at Belk Theater at Blumenthal Performing Arts Center on Tuesday, August 9 for a limited engagement through Sunday, August 14. 

Broadway In Chicago is pleased to announce casting for the Chicago engagement of Disney's NEWSIES. The Tony Award-winning production will begin performances at the Cadillac Palace Theatre (151 W Randolph) on Thursday, July 28 for a limited engagement through Sunday, August 7.

Casting has been announced for the Vancouver engagement of Disney's NEWSIES.   The Tony Award-winning production will begin performances at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre on Tuesday, July 5 for a limited engagement through Sunday, July 10. 

The McLean Community Players (MCP) present Paul Slade Smith's Unnecessary Farce, opening April 29, 2016, in McLean's Alden Theatre. Director Jessie Roberts leads an award-winning cast and crew in bringing this production to the Alden stage. Unnecessary Farce combines all the elements of a classic farce with a contemporary American plot: the police procedural. This side-splitting show will have its 200th production this year. MCP's production opens Today, April 29, and runs weekends through May 14, with performances todays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and two Sunday matinees, May 1 and 8, at 2 p.m.
