A video created by students at the Berklee College of Music is going viral. The group created a virtual orchestra, performing 'What the World Needs Now' while remaining socially distanced.

Complete casting has been announced for the upcoming Los Angeles production of Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler's A Little Night Music. Performances will begin at the Greenway Court Theatre in West Hollywood on May 15th, 2020 and will run through June 21st, 2020.

The Luitingh Alexander Musical Theatre Academy (LAMTA) ended 2019 on a festively Lloyd Webber note with its first musical theatre production, ENCORE!. In celebration of 75 years of the Jerome Robbins Dance Division of the New York Public Library, From the Horse's Mouth will dedicate its next theater/dance performance event to the history of this storied institution and the establishment of its international dance archive. Rare film footage, videos and multimedia will enhance this edition of From the Horse's Mouth and its unique blend of movement and storytelling.

'Public Figure' is a documentary that investigates the lives of influencers from around the world as well as the psychological and addictive effects of social media in society.  Produced and directed by New York documentary filmmaker Brian Corso, 'Public Figure' features social media influencers and public figures around the world, by looking into their everyday lives and how they deal with fame, money, hate and obsession. 'Public Figure' will premiere at the much-touted Manchester United Kingdom Film Festival on Thursday, March 9, 2019.

From March 1 to 18, La MaMa will present Theater Three Collaborative in a new production of 'Extreme Whether,' a 'Cli-Fi' play written and directed by Karen Malpede. The piece juxtaposes psychological and magical realism in a tale of a courageous climate researcher who is defamed by special interests, including his own family. Obie-winner Rocco Sisto heads a cast of six.

Special invitational presentations of THE MUSEUM OF BROKEN RELATIONSHIPS, a new musical featuring Tony winner Jessie Mueller and inspired by the Museum of Broken Relationships in Zagreb, Croatia, are set for today (Monday) and tomorrow in Manhattan. Music is by Daniel Green, with book, lyrics & direction by David H. Bell.

Though GUYS & DOLLS might not offer deep self reflection, it continues to be a staple of the American musical tradition for accomplishing the one thing musical theater set out to offer in the first place: An escape. A sense of sheer joy. A break from the monotony of reality and our own personal problems. A chance to be part of a fantasy world of song and dance for a few hours where the laughs are rehearsed and the guy gets the girl and leave with a smile.
