Wise Children today announce that Angela Carter's Wise Children, their critically-acclaimed co-production with The Old Vic, Belgrade Theatre Coventry, Oxford Playhouse and York Theatre Royal, adapted and directed by Emma Rice, will be available to stream on BBC iPlayer from this weekend for 3 months as part of the BBC's Culture in Quarantine programme. It will also air on BBC 4 in May 2020 a?" date to be announced.

Marc Antolin and Carly Bawden reprise their lead roles as Jean-René and Angélique in the U.S. premiere of playwright/director Emma Rice's ROMANTICS ANONYMOUS beginning at The Wallis March 17, 2020 for a thirteen-day run. Based on the movie Les Emotifs Anonymes, two lonely souls make a sweet connection when Angélique takes a job at Jean-René's chocolate factory.

Bristol Old Vic Launches Sound Installation Celebrating Female Achievement In Theatre

In honour of International Women's Day, Bristol Old Vic is launching a series of interviews and stories centred on inspirational women from the theatre's past and present. The sound installation, titled Women of Bristol Old Vic, aims to bring the voices of women in theatre to the forefront of the industry and celebrate their achievements across theatrical history. The seven installations combine archive material, oral histories and locations across the theatre's foyer. These can be accessed through a QR code, which visitors can scan on their phones.

The National Theatre today announces nine productions that will play on the South Bank in 2020-2021 alongside previously announced shows. These run alongside our international touring productions, three plays that will tour to multiple venues across the UK and a West End transfer. The NT also announces today that it will increase the quantity of low-price tickets on the South Bank by 25%, with 250,000 available across the year at £20 or less.

David Pugh will present Emma Rice's critically acclaimed musical adaptation of Enid Blyton's Malory Towers, originally created with Wise Children. This new production will be co-produced with Theatre by the Lake, Keswick, where the production will open on 27 March 2020, before going on a national tour, concluding at Southbank Centre's Queen Elizabeth Hall, where it will play from 27 July to 31 August, with national press performances on 31 July, 1 and 2 August.

Joining the previously announced returning cast members Marc Antolin (Jean-René) and Carly Bawden (Angélique) are Brett Brown (Salesman/Fred), Me'sha Bryan (Suzanne/Mimi), Harry Hepple (Ludo/Remi), Laura Jane Matthewson (Young Woman), Sandra Marvin (Magda/Brigitte/Dr Maxim), Craig Pinder (Father/Pierre/Receptionist) and Gareth Snook (Mercier/Mumbler/Marini).
