MALORY TOWERS Returns With A Summer Run At Southbank Centre

David Pugh will present Emma Rice's critically acclaimed musical adaptation of Enid Blyton's Malory Towers, originally created with Wise Children. This new production will be co-produced with Theatre by the Lake, Keswick, where the production will open on 27 March 2020, before going on a national tour, concluding at Southbank Centre's Queen Elizabeth Hall, where it will play from 27 July to 31 August, with national press performances on 31 July, 1 and 2 August.

Wise Children today announce the full cast for the revival of Emma Rice's musical adaptation of Romantics Anonymous in a co-production with Plush Theatricals. Joining the previously announced returning cast members Marc Antolin (Jean-René) and Carly Bawden (Angélique) are Brett Brown (Salesman/Fred), Me'sha Bryan (Suzanne/Mimi), Harry Hepple (Ludo/Remi), Laura Jane Matthewson (Young Woman), Sandra Marvin (Magda/Brigitte/Dr Maxim), Craig Pinder (Father/Pierre/Receptionist) and Gareth Snook (Mercier/Mumbler/Marini).

ROMANTICS ANONYMOUS Comes to Spoleto Festival USA

Spoleto Festival USA announces Romantics Anonymous, a musical theater production set to run during the 2020 season. Produced by Plush Theatricals in association with Wise Children, the work, which premiered in 2017 at Shakespeare's Globe in Londona?"comes from the mind of Emma Rice, an acclaimed director whose many piecesa?"The Flying Lovers of Vitebsk (2018), The Red Shoes (2011), Don Jon (2009), and Tristan and Yseult (2006)a?"have been seen and adored by Festivalgoers. Rice adapted this musical from the French-Belgian romantic-comedy Les Emotifs anonymes; Christopher Dimond and Michael Kooman developed the lyrics and music.

Bristol Old Vic today launched its 2020 programme of work, Year of Artists a?" shining a spotlight on the role of artists in a changing world, and celebrating creativity in us all. Wise Children Announce Revival Of ROMANTICS ANONYMOUS At Bristol Old Vic

Wise Children today announce further programming for 2020, with a revival of Emma Rice's musical adaptation of Romantics Anonymous in a co-production with Plush Theatricals. Marc Antolin and Carly Bawden return to the cast to play Jean-René and Angélique respectively. The production opens at Bristol Old Vic on 23 January, with previews from 18 January and runs until 1 February, ahead of a US tour to Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in LA and Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington D.C.. Further US dates and the full cast will be announced shortly.

Wise Children today announces the world première of Artistic Director Emma Rice's adaptation of Emily Brontë's Wuthering Heights, which she also directs, as part of their 2020 season of work. With her trademark musical and visual style, Rice brings new life to the classic story in this elemental stage adaptation. This co-production with the National Theatre, in association with York Theatre Royal, opens at the Lyttelton in autumn 2020 before touring the UK, with venues to be announced.

MOUTHPIECE Earns Carol Tambor Best of Edinburgh Award

The Carol Tambor Theatrical Foundation announces the winner of this year's The Carol Tambor Best of Edinburgh Award, the highest honor at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Chosen by Carol Tambor and members of her Foundation, along with The Scotsman Newspaper's Arts Writers Joyce McMillian, Jackie McGlone and Mark Fisher, Mouthpiece was announced as the winner at the Scotsman Award Ceremony during the closing ceremonies of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe on Friday, August 23.
