Steep Theatre is extending the run of Lucy Kirkwood's Mosquitoes through November 16, adding four more chances to catch this beautifully performed and powerful show. Inside the Large Hadron Collider, two high-energy particle beams travel at close to the speed of light before being forced to collide. Outside, two sisters run on an ideological collision course that threatens to upend the fragile gravity holding their family together. Lucy Kirkwood's Mosquitoes is an intergenerational look at the gulf between decisions and their consequences.

NFFTY is the world's largest and most influential film festival for emerging directors, showcases work by filmmakers 24 and younger from around the globe. NFFTY returned for its 13th consecutive year October 24 - October 27 in Seattle, Washington with thousands attending the festival. The Regrettes have released an original song for this year's holiday season, “Holiday-ish” (feat. Dylan Minnette), out today on Warner Records. Co-written by The Regrettes' frontwoman Lydia Night and her boyfriend, Dylan, the track will also be released as a 7” vinyl available on November 29th in celebration of Record Store Day's Black Friday special. Side A of the 7” is the final studio recording, while Side B includes a demo version of the track that was recorded as a voice memo in the couple's home.

Disney Channel has ordered 'Sulphur Springs,' a live-action, time travel mystery series from writer and executive producer Tracey Thomson ('The Young and the Restless'). Chuck Pratt ('STAR') will serve as showrunner and executive producer. Jennifer Phang (Freeform's 'Cloak & Dagger') directed the pilot episode. Production is set to begin in New Orleans in 2020.

Waitress today announces television star Hannah Tointon, as seen in The Inbetweeners, Mr Selfridge and Hollyoaks, will be joining the West End company from 2 December in the role of Dawn. She will take over from Laura Baldwin who will mark her final performance on 30 November. Waitress is also delighted to announce that Lucie Jones, who has been wowing audiences in the lead role of Jenna since taking over earlier this summer, will extend performances in the smash hit musical through to 25 January 2020.

Night Raiders, an Indigenous sci-fi feature from award-winning Saskatchewan-born Cree/Métis writer/director, Danis Goulet (Wakening, Barefoot), began principal photography on October 7, 2019. The film, which marks Goulet's feature film directorial debut, stars Elle-Máijá Tailfeathers (The Body Remembers When the World Broke Open, Blood Quantum), Brooklyn Letexier-Hart (Burden of Truth), New Zealand's Alex Tarrant (Seachange, When We Go to War), Shaun Sipos (Krypton, Dark Matter) and Emmy and Tony Award-winning Amanda Plummer (Hunger Games, Pulp Fiction). Filming will continue until November 11, 2019 in Toronto and surrounding area.

Casita Maria Center for Arts & Education's annual gala, Fiesta, was held at The Plaza Hotel on October 15, 2019. The evening honored Ambassador Mary Dawkins and Brigadier General Peter Dawkins, John Hardy Jewelry, Edgar Legaspi, and Juan Montoya with the Casita Maria Gold Medals of Honor. Australia's leading theatre producer John Frost today announced the full adult cast of the lavish and fun multi-million dollar musical comedy SHREK THE MUSICAL, which opens in Australia next year. SHREK THE MUSICAL will play at the Sydney Lyric Theatre, The Star from 1 January 2020, followed by seasons at Her Majesty's Theatre, Melbourne from 16 February and at the Lyric Theatre, Brisbane from 9 May.
