The Tony Award-winning Long Wharf Theatre has announced the appointment of Rachel Alderman as Associate Artistic Director, a leadership position that will further develop the organization’s commitment to producing bold, boundary-breaking theatre. 

After an extensive national search, Geva Theatre Center has announced that the Board of Directors has voted to appoint Elizabeth Williamson as our new Artistic Director. She will partner with Executive Director Christopher Mannelli as Co-CEO of Geva Theatre Center beginning in June 2022.

 TheaterWorks Hartford and ViDCo will present Someone Else’s House, from Obie-winning writer and performer Jared Mezzocchi, director Margot Bordelon, and creative producer Elizabeth Williamson. This live virtual experience centers on Mezzocchi’s frightening, true-life haunting inside his family’s 200-year-old New England house.

Geffen Stayhouse’s sixth virtual production Jared Mezzocchi’s SOMEONE ELSE’S HOUSE world premieres April 30, 2021. This live, virtual, and interactive theatrical experience was written and will be performed by Jared. Based on the true-life haunting encounters of generations of his family living in New England, the Zoomed audience will follow along with Jared narrating his family histories using the “haunting kits” pre-mailed before their reserved performance.

Dorset Theatre Festival has announced the launch of its new Commissioning and Fellowship Program, welcoming returning director Jade King Carroll as Resident Artist, who will design and oversee this program in collaboration with Artistic Director Dina Janis. Carroll will also work with Janis in producing the Festival’s new StageFree Audio Plays.

AFTER TRUTH: DISINFORMATION AND THE COST OF FAKE NEWS, debuting THURSDAY, MARCH 19 (9:00-10:35 p.m. ET/PT), investigates the ongoing threat caused by the phenomenon of 'fake news' in the U.S., focusing on the real-life consequences that disinformation, conspiracy theories and false news stories have on the average citizen. This documentary humanizes a phenomena that Americans will confront in the coming election cycle and for years to come.

In response to popular demand, an additional performance of Jane Eyre, adapted and directed by Hartford Stage Associate Artistic Director Elizabeth Williamson, has been scheduled for Thursday, March 12, at 7:30 p.m. The show will close on Saturday, March 14.

There are certain stories that strike an emotional chord regardless of the format or venue. One such story is the Charlotte Bronte classic JANE EYRE, which is now playing at Hartford Stage in a brand new adaptation by Associate Artistic Director, Elizabeth Williamson (who also directs). The story - equal parts Victorian epic and Gothic horror, holds up extremely well in this production - providing a sweeping narrative, delivered by a talented cast and supported by strong technical design.

A new adaptation of Jane Eyre, Charlotte Brontë's beloved tale of courage, sacrifice and self-respect, will debut next month at Hartford Stage. The novel has been adapted for the stage by Hartford Stage Associate Artistic Director Elizabeth Williamson, who will also direct. Jane Eyre runs Thursday, February 13, through Saturday, March 14.
