North Coast Repertory Theatre is ringing in the New Season with Mark St. Germain’s entertaining and charming DANCING LESSONS. Two highly offbeat neighbors, a Broadway dancer and a science professor, forge an unexpected friendship as they face physical and emotional challenges.

Richard Baird directs Leilani Smith* and Christopher M. Williams* on North Coast Rep’s mainstage. North Coast Repertory Theatre concludes its acclaimed streaming season with the World Premiere of the streamed production of DR. GLAS. Penned by Jeffrey Hatcher (Holmes and Watson) and based on a Swedish masterpiece, this psychological thriller slowly unravels a life-and-death moral dilemma of passion and all-consuming desire.

Most know Ruth K. Westheimer as Dr. Ruth, the extraordinary sex educator who empowered millions across the globe to claim their own sexual pleasure and fulfillment.

If you had asked me about Dr. Ruth before I watched BECOMING DR. RUTH I would have vague memories of an older lady with an accent who used to talk about sex on the radio in the ’90s and early 2000s.  Now, thanks to the stellar performance by Tovah Feldshuh in the play now streaming from North Coast Repertory Theatre, I have learned so much about Dr. Ruth’s extraordinary life.

Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts has announced the 2021 Mainstage production Becoming Dr. Ruth, marking the return to live theater at Bay Street in more than 15 months, is now running through June 27.

Few know the whole story of losing her family in the Holocaust, her emigration to Israel where she became a sniper for the Haganah, or the complex personal journey that led her to fame and celebrity status.
