2017 TRU Producer Development & Mentorship Program Announced

Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) announces that submissions are being accepted through August 25, 2017 for the 2017-18 Producer Development & Mentorship Program (PDMP). Created in collaboration with 4-time Tony winning producer Cheryl Wiesenfeld (The Heidi Chronicles, Rocky, All the Way, The Gershwin's Porgy & Bess, Vanya & Sonya & Masha & Spike, Elaine Stritch: At Liberty, The Exonerated), this monthly program runs one night a month from September through July, and offers ongoing support and education for producers at all levels of experience. The program is designed to offer a sophisticated but accessible range of information to educate and guide career producers, not-for-profit producers and self-producing artists. Cabrillo Music Theatre Flies Off to Neverland with PETER PAN

CABRILLO MUSIC THEATRE presents one of the most beloved family friendly musicals of all time with the third and final show in its 2016-2017 season, PETER PAN, with music by Mark 'Moose' Charlap and Jule Styne, lyrics by Carolyn Leigh and Betty Comden and Adolph Green, based on J.M. Barrie's unforgettable story, musical direction by Dan Redfeld, choreography by Cheryl Baxter and direction by Yvette Lawrence. PETER PAN opens on Friday, July 14, 2017 and runs through Sunday, July 23, 2017 at the 1,800-seat Kavli Theatre at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, 2100 Thousand Oaks Boulevard in Thousand Oaks.   

LOVING AND LOVING Begins Run at Stella Adler Studio Tonight

The Stella Adler Studio of Acting's Harold Clurman Laboratory Theater and Radical Evolution will present Loving and Loving, a play by Beto O'Byrne, opening tonight, June 12, 2017, on the 50th anniversary of the historic Loving v. Virginia decision of the United States Supreme Court that overturned laws prohibiting interracial marriage in the U.S.

The Stella Adler Studio of Acting and Radical Evolution will present The Other Box: A Conversation About Mixed-Race America at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting on June 5, 2017, at 7 PM. The event will address identity, visibility and the collective similarities and differences of the multiracial experience.

Stella Adler Studio to Mark 50th Anniversary of Landmark Case Loving v. Virginia

The Stella Adler Studio of Acting's Harold Clurman Laboratory Theater and Radical Evolution today announced its presentation of Loving and Loving, a play by Beto O'Byrne, developed with Meropi Peponides, opening on June 12, 2017, the 50th anniversary of the historic Loving v. Virginia decision of the United States Supreme Court that overturned laws criminalizing interracial marriage in the U.S. The play examines the landmark court case from a 21st Century perspective, exploring the complexities of intimacy and identity, the impact of law on our most personal decisions, and the ongoing legacy of this case in our present, multiracial America.
