LAST GASP Comes to The Players Theatre This August

The world premiere production of Last Gasp by Jeff Smith, directed by Dan Dinero, will be presented at The Players Theatre (115 MacDougal St., New York NY 10012), August 8-24. Performances will be Thursdays through Saturdays at 7 PM, and Sundays at 3 PM. Tickets ($50) are available at lastgasp.show. The performance will run approximately 90 minutes with no intermission. The show is recommended for ages 18 and up.

3 EGG CREAMS: A RHAPSODY IN THE RAIN Returns to New Jersey

After a successful run in New York City's historic Cutting Room, 3 EGG CREAMS: A Rhapsody in the Rain returns to New Jersey on Sunday, August 11 at 2 pm & 6 pm Dante Hall Theatre at Stockton University in Atlantic City, NJ and then on September 14 at 7 pm 3 Egg creams will play the Strand Theatre, Lakewood, NJ.

ROOMMATES Makes New York City Debut

ROOMMATES, the first full-length play by Brooklyn playwright Darcy Cagen will have its NYC debut in the Lion Theatre at Theatre Row for a limited engagement - playing just three performances: Friday, August 2 at 8pm; Wednesday, August 7 at 2pm and Saturday, August 10 at 8pm.

Dramatists Guild Announces 2019 Lanford Wilson Award Recipients

The Dramatists Guild of America is has announced the co-recipients of the 2019 Lanford Wilson Award are Abe Koogler and Charly Evon Simpson. Their awards will be presented at the Guild's annual awards ceremony on Monday, July 29, 2019, at the American Airlines Theatre's Penthouse Lobby in New York.

EVE OF BELTANE Will Premiere At Broadway Bound Festival

LCT3 to Produce Sylvia Khoury's POWER STRIP Directed by Tyne Rafaeli

This fall, Lincoln Center TheaterLCT3 will produce the world premiere of POWER STRIP, a new play by Sylvia Khoury, directed by Tyne Rafaeli, which will begin performances Saturday, October 5 and run for six weeks only through Sunday, November 17 at the Claire Tow Theater (150 West 65 Street). Opening night is Monday, October 21.

This Christmas prepare to relive all the angelic joy of 'Heaven Sent' as it comes back to New York stages. Written by Bambi Everson ('Neither Here Nor There', and others), this charming play follows the trials and tribulations of an innocent young angel-in-training assigned the task of improving the life of a surly malcontent. Raucous and irreverent, whilst at its center sweet and even uplifting, the show was first performed at the Broadway Comedy Club under the original title 'OMG!'. As it transitions to The Producer's Club it will take on its new title, just in time for an early December run.

London's Queen's Theatre, Home To LES MISERABLES, Renamed The Sondheim Theatre

Cameron Mackintosh today announces he is delighted that in honour of Stephen Sondheim's 90th birthday next March, the Queen's Theatre will be renamed the Sondheim Theatre, making him the only living artist to have a theatre named in his honour both in the West End and on Broadway. Following the renovation of wartime bomb damage and a major restoration of the auditorium and the complete backstage, the newly named Sondheim Theatre will continue as the home of world's longest running musical Les Miserables as it enters its 35th year.

National Coalition Against Censorship To Be Presented DLDF Defender Award, July 29

On July 29, 2019, the Dramatists Guild of America, Inc. will hold its annual Awards Night in the Penthouse Lounge at the American Airlines Theater in New York City. Among the other honors given that night, an award from the Dramatists Legal Defense Fund will be presented to Svetlana Mintcheva, Director of Programing at the National Coalition Against Censorship for their fierce commitment to protecting and advocating the First Amendment.

Acclaimed Philip Ridley Drama TENDER NAPALM Returns July 18

African-American director David Norwood will premiere a uniquely re-envisioned American version of TENDER NAPALM by renowned British playwright Philip Ridley (The Pitchfork Disney, Mercury Fur, The Fastest Clock in the Universe). This poetic two-hander originally premiered in London in 2011, before making a limited engagement Off-Broadway debut in 2012 to critical acclaim. Previews begin July 18 at HERE with opening set for July 24.
