TheatreWorks to Reopen October 2021 With LIZARD BOY

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley will resume in-person performances when it launches its previously announced 51st season, featuring eight plays and musicals presented October 2021 through August 2022, kicking off with the new indie folk-rock musical Lizard Boy.

Sharai Bohannon Announced as Recipient of 2021 Defender of the Year Award

The Dramatists Guild Legal Defense Fund has announced that the recipient of the 2021 Defender of the Year Award is Sharai Bohannon. The Defender Award is given in recognition of an individual, group, or organization’s efforts in support of free expression in the dramatic arts.

Micki Grant, Composer, Playwright and Performer, Has Died at Age 92

With the long-running Don’t Bother Me, I Can’t Cope, in which she also starred, she became the first woman to win a Grammy Award for the score of a Broadway musical. She also received Tony nominations for book, music, and lyrics. Another Grammy nomination for the score (with Alex Bradford) of Your Arms Too Short to Box with God followed, as well as another Tony nomination for the score of Working.

Queens Theatre And Lincoln Center Present AN EVENING OF SHORT PLAYS

On Wednesday, August 25th, 2021, Queens Theatre's New American Voices and Theatre for All, in collaboration with Lincoln Center's RESTART STAGES, present An Evening of Short Plays, featuring three works by artists from the Disability community.

THE 24 HOUR PLAYS: VIRAL MONOLOGUES Announces National Queer Theater Edition

 National Queer Theater has announced a special edition round of The 24 Hour Plays: Viral Monologues, which they will host in partnership with The 24 Hour Plays and The Dramatists Guild of America to featuring brand-new monologues written, rehearsed and recorded in 24 hours.

Casting Announced For ROMANCE IN D at Peninsula Players Theatre

This romantic comedy follows the lovable but awkward Isabel Fox (Cassandra Bissell) and Charles Norton (Neil Brookshire), two neighbors who develop a friendship while resisting their meddling parents. Meanwhile, Helen and George (Judy Blue and Greg Vinkler) unbeknownst to their kids, happen to start their own romance. 'Romance in D' is generously sponsored by Tim and Jackie Danis.

RENAMING SHAIM a play centered on overcoming sexual trauma will have a three-night run at Broadway Bound Theatre Festival - Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 8:00 pm; Sunday, September 26, 2021 @ 2:00 pm; and Tuesday, September 28, 2021 @ 8:00 pm.

Diversionary Announces 2021/2022 Season
