Great Music in a Great Space, the premier concert series at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, will present a virtual performance of Johann Sebastian Bach's St. John Passion on Monday, March 29th at 7pm.

The program will feature Art Songs by Aura Marina del Rosario from the Dominican Republic and William Ortiz from Puerto Rico. Piano compositions by Texas-based John McGinn and Bay Area resident Sheli Nan will be heard for the first time in New York.

Mark Plesent, long-time Producing Artistic Director of Working Theater, the only theater in the country dedicated exclusively to telling the stories of working people, passed away on February 19, 2021 after a valiantly fought 4-year battle with cancer. He was 60.

These recitals feature the music staff of the Cathedral, performing both in the great space of the Cathedral's Gothic interior and in the more intimate surroundings of their own living rooms. This week, Associate Music Director Raymond Nagem will perform music by Herbert Howells and Francis Jackson.

As the 16th annual Vancouver International Women in Film Festival kicks off on March 4, VIFF will present a diverse female-led program that includes a Vancity Impact Talk - She/Her/Hers: 'Woman'-hood in 2021 - on March 9 and a Creator Talk with The Wilds' Creator Sarah Streicher and Showrunner Amy Harris on March 31. Plus, VIFF+ members get free access to a special curated collection of films by extraordinary female filmmakers streaming on VIFF Connect.

LA Opera will co-present an online stream of Breaking the Waves, an opera by composer Missy Mazzoli and librettist Royce Vavrek that was previously scheduled to open on the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion stage this month. The opera will begin streaming on March 12, 2021, in collaboration with Opera Philadelphia.

 As part of 'New Federal Theatre Celebrates Black History Month,' Woodie King, Jr.'s New Federal Theatre is offering a live streaming virtual reading of 'Widows' by Mfundi Vundla on February 27 at 7:00 PM. The reading will be available on-demand through March 1.
