The Lowry announces cohort of artists joining its flagship developed with The Lowry Programme.

ArtsEmerson, Boston's leading presenter of contemporary world theater and film and the professional presenting and producing organization of Emerson College, recently announced the film schedule for Boston Asian American Film Festival (BAAFF).

'Bridging the Divide: Tom Bradley and the Politics of Race' reveals the life and legacy of the first African American mayor elected in a major American city, with an overwhelmingly white majority, and will be broadcast on PBS SoCal on Thursday, October 6 at 8:30 p.m..

The City of Pompano Beach Cultural Affairs Department will relaunch its Artists in Residence (AiR) program at the historic Bailey Contemporary Arts Center (BaCA).  The AiR Program provides artists with studio space to create new work, collaborate with fellow resident artists, and engage with our community. The program officially launches during Old Town Untapped on Friday, October 7, 2022 from 6-10 pm.

Milwaukee Rep will present Beehive: The 60s Musical November 11, 2022- January 15, 2023 in the Stackner Cabaret. From Aretha Franklin to Janis Joplin, the powerful female voices of the 1960s have left an unforgettable mark on generations. 

Of Equal Place: Isotopes in Motion will incorporate dance, video, and physics to create an exhilarating and engaging performance on Sunday, November 6 at 1:00PM. This project is a mass collaboration between Wharton Center, the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB), Dance Exchange, Women and Minorities in Physical Sciences (WaMPS), and community organizations.

BoHo Theatre's Executive Director, Sana Selemon, has announced she will be stepping down from her position in March of 2023. Sana first performed with the company in 2018 in BoHo's production of 110 IN THE SHADE, and then again in BoHo's 2019 production of BIG FISH. Selemon then became a Company Member before taking over as Executive Director in August of 2020. BoHo's Board of Directors and Company Members have begun a search to find BoHo's next Executive Director.

The mini-album is all new material featuring '93', '36' and '696.' Both '93696' and 'संसार' tease the group's new direction, as well as remind us of the power of this acclaimed band of guitarist and vocalist Ravenna Hunt-Hendrix, guitarist Mario Miron, bassist Tia Vincent-Clark and drummer Leo Didkovsky.

 Legendary performers Lyle Lovett and John Hiatt have teamed up again to present a delightful evening of genre-bending delight, fusing the sounds of country, swing, jazz, folk and gospel in An Acoustic Evening with Lyle Lovett and John Hiatt, a sold-out performance on Friday, Oct. 14 at 8 p.m. in Capitol Theater.

Vamos dançar! WMI's third club night in their new Let's Dance series celebrates the 20th anniversary of NYC-based Brazilian expats Forró in the Dark. The group mixes the driving beats of forró - a style of rural party music from Northeastern Brazil - with rock, psychedelia, and more into a unique musical melting pot that has attracted collaborators including David Byrne, Bebel Gilberto, Angelique Kidjo, Gilberto Gil, and Miho Hatori, among others. Born in New York City and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Gaspar Muniz grew up in an intensely artistic environment.

Hero Theatre will spotlight the stories of Black women with two new commissions. Phanésia Pharel joins Hero as the newest commission for Nuestro Planeta. Playwright Amina Henry, whose play Troy was commissioned and presented by Hero in 2019, returns to riff on Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing in a follow-up commission.

InterAct Theatre Company will begin its 2022-23 season with DEATH OF A DRIVER, a “regional premiere” by the author of InterAct’s critically acclaimed, award-winning HOW TO USE A KNIFE, Will Snider. DEATH OF A DRIVER marks InterAct’s 1st live production of their 35th Anniversary Season.

In MY OWN DIRECTIONS: A Black Man's Journey in the American Theatre, Sheldon Epps recounts his rollercoaster ride of a life in the theatre, with all the excitement and occasional anguish that come with the highs and lows.

The song also is in direct partnership with celebrity-run anti-bullying youth non-profit, Boo2Bullying, whom seek to eradicate bullying, intolerance and discrimination by educating kids, schools and parents about accepting diversity and giving young people the tools to connect with and positively impact those around them.

Contra Costa's oldest continually-operating theatre company has used the difficulties of the last two-and-a-half years as an opportunity to create a new and unique kind of community-based theatre company.  In an open house on October 15th, Town Hall Theatre wants to re-introduce itself to the community and share where they see the historic theatre going forward.

Art House Productions has announced the 2022-2023 cohort of its INKubator Program. INKubator is a year-long new play process for a select group of 6 New Jersey-Associated playwrights in residence at Art House Productions.
