Interview: Caleb Kohler of MATILDA at LionHeart Productions
by Brian Hilbrand - Nov 13, 2025

LionHeart Productions is presenting Roald Dahl's Matilda.   Inspired by the twisted genius of Roald Dahl, the Tony Award-winning Matilda is the captivating masterpiece from the Royal Shakespeare Company that revels in the anarchy of childhood, the power of imagination, and the inspiring story of a girl who dreams of a better life. With a book by Dennis Kelly and original songs by Tim Minchin, Matilda has won 47 international awards and continues to thrill sold-out audiences of all ages worldwide. Matilda is a little girl with astonishing wit, intelligence, and psychokinetic powers. Her cruel parents dislike her but impress her schoolteacher, Miss Honey. During her first term at school, the two forge a bond as Miss Honey begins to recognize and appreciate Matilda's extraordinary personality. Matilda's school life isn't completely smooth sailing, however – the school's mean headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, hates children and just loves to punish those who don't abide by her rules. But Matilda has courage and cleverness in equal amounts, and could be the school pupils' saving grace! Broadway World Michigan sat down with Caleb Kohler, who plays Bruce, to get his thoughts on the show, cake, and more!

Review: MATILDA THE MUSICAL at Invercargill Musical Theatre
by Neil Brewer - Jul 17, 2025

Matilda began as a beloved children’s book by Roald Dahl, published in 1988, and was later adapted into a charming film in 1996—which I absolutely adored. More recently, it received a vibrant new life as a stage musical, debuting in 2010 with music and lyrics by Tim Minchin and a book by Dennis Kelly.

Review: DNA al TEATROSOPHIA
by Ettore Farrattini - Apr 7, 2025

Review: JAB, Park Theatre
by Cindy Marcolina - Apr 4, 2025

Sometimes you’re unlucky enough to sit in a room and wonder why plays exist. Jab is an unfortunate example of this. Anne and Don have been married for nearly three decades and they despise each other. She would normally brush his sexist remarks and complacency under the rug, mostly ignoring him during the day as a busy NHS worker, but the nation’s entering the first lockdown. Isolating together, they’re forced to look at their issues.
