Ensemble Studio Theatre/Los Angeles in association with VS. Theatre Company has announced the world premiere production of The Water Tribe, a new play by Don Cummings. Under the direction of Tricia Small, there will be three preview performances January 10a?"12 and opening is set for Friday, January 17, at 8pm. The engagement will run through February 9 at VS. Theatre.

Paper Mill Playhouse (Mark S. Hoebee-Producing Artistic Director, Michael Stotts- Managing Director), recipient of the Regional Theatre Tony Award, begins the new year with the world premiere Unmasked: The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and written with Richard Curtis. Unmasked: The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber begins performances Thursday, January 30, 2020, and will continue through Sunday, March 1, 2020 at Paper Mill Playhouse (22 Brookside Drive, Millburn, NJ). The Fred Ebb Foundation (Mitchell S. Bernard, Trustee) in association with the Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) presented the fifteenth annual Fred Ebb Award for aspiring musical theatre songwriters to Angela Sclafani & Benjamin Velez. The award, named in honor of the late award-winning lyricist Fred Ebb, was presented by Kate Baldwin on Monday, December 2nd from 6-8pm at a by-invitation-only ceremony in the Penthouse Lounge of The American Airlines Theater.

Jason Danieley will honor his late wife Marin Mazzie with Sunflower Power Hour, a benefit concert in support of Cancer Support Community. On September 13, 2018, Mazzie passed away from ovarian cancer.

The penultimate award show leading up to the Tony Awards is the Drama Desk Awards. It is a celebration of both Broadway and Off Broadway theater. In addition to the standard performance prizes for acting, music, sets, writing, and costumes, there are other categories like, Fight Coordinating, Hair and Wigs, Projections, and more. I fortunately got a chance to work the Red Carpet and the Press Room. I love working the Drama Desk Awards, because I get the chance to meet some of the new voices that are making interesting and innovative theater.

Tony Award winning actor David Hyde Pierce will join members of New York City's philanthropic, business, health care and Alzheimer's communities on Monday, June 3, 2019 at The Pierre, at the annual "Forget-Me-Not" Gala hosted by CaringKind, New York City's leading expert in Alzheimer's and dementia care for more than four decades. The event is expected to raise $1 million. The fundraiser will be chaired by Jeffrey N. Jones, CaringKind Board Member.

Terrence McNally's Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune starring Audra McDonald and Michael Shannon began performances last night at the Broadhurst Theatre. The night marked a big moment for playwright, Terrence McNally, celebrating his 25th Broadway production, and director Arin Arbus, celebrating her Broadway debut.
