My relationship with Nuffield Southampton Theatres technically started at the end of my final year of university, in a completely untheatrical way, when I trod the boards during my graduation ceremony. I was soon back as a Master's student, however; I bagged a few tickets to see Headlong's 2012 adaptation of Romeo and Juliet as payment for flyering across the University of Southampton's campuses.
Invertigo Dance Theatre Offers Dancing Through Parkinson's Classes Online

Los Angeles–based professional dance company Invertigo Dance Theatre (Invertigo) has shifted its weekly Dancing Through Parkinson's (DTP) classes online in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The announcement was made today by K. Bradford, Community Engagement Manager of Invertigo Dance Theatre. For the past nine years, the company has offered free (donations accepted) weekly dance classes in studios throughout Southern California to people living with Parkinson's.

Ailey II Will Kick Off LA International Dance Festival at Segerstrom Center

Segerstrom Center for the Arts and the Los Angeles International Dance Festival (LAIDF) will present Ailey II - The Next Generation of Dance on April 11, 2020 at 7:30 p.m. in the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall as part of the festival's inaugural year. Ailey II, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater's junior company that serves as a bridge between The Ailey School and the professional dance world, is universally renowned for merging the spirit and energy of the country's best young dance talent with the passion and creative vision of today's most promising emerging choreographers. The acclaimed 12-member ensemble makes its first appearance at the Center performing three works from the company's rich repertory including Road to One (2017) by Darrell Grand Moultrie, Where There Are Tongues (2018) by Ailey School alum and former Ailey II dancer Bradley Shelver as well as Breaking Point (2017) by Renee McDonald.

The Broadway at Birdland concert series was elated to present Jared Grimes, protegé of Wynton Marsalis, in an evening of high energy, non-stop, genre-fusing music and dance on the Birdland stage on Monday, February 24. The band included Mark Meadows, Anwar Marchall, Bret Puchir, Jonathan Michel, and Brent Birckhead.

In celebration of Black History Month 2020, Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas honored seven creative visionaries for their contributions in arts and entertainment. The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors presented scrolls to Actress, Choreographer, and Television Director Debbie Allen; Actor Wren Brown; Actor and Artistic Director Ben Guillory; LA Poet Laureate Robin Coste Lewis; Actress, Author, and Activist Sheryl Lee Ralph; Actress Wendy Raquel Robinson; and Lula Washington Dance Theatre Founder and Director Lula Washington.
LADIES NIGHT Announced at Los Angeles International Dance Festival

On April 15, 2020, the inaugural Los Angeles International Dance Festival (LAIDF) a?' a 16-day dance experience across 12 venues and 30 performances across Southern California a?' will feature a special one-off performance called a?oeLadies Night,a?? at Royce Hall at 8:00pm, showcasing three extraordinary LA dance companies: ATE9, TL Collective and Barak Ballet. All three dance companies were founded by women (Danielle Agami, Micaela Taylor and Melissa Barak), who bring a wealth of diverse perspectives to their choreography, attributed much to their different ethnic backgrounds and past experiences.
