Villa Albertine, a cultural institution established by the French Government to deepen cultural connections between France and the US, announced the 2023 cohort of artists, researchers, and cultural professionals selected for its groundbreaking residency program.

Kramer will lead the global membership, the Oscars, the institution’s education and emerging talent initiatives, the Academy’s extensive collections housed in the Margaret Herrick Library and Academy Film Archive, and the Academy Museum and its ongoing calendar of exhibitions, screenings, educational and public programs, and retail operations.

Featured across the Academy’s social channels will be exclusive content from Zazie Beetz, Halle Berry, Cher, Jon M. Davidson has served as Executive Vice President, Communications since joining the Academy staff in March 2020. In this expanded role, she will continue to oversee publicity and corporate communications campaigns, including the Oscars and internal membership communications campaigns, including the Oscars.

Emmy®-nominated producer Will Packer will produce the 94th Oscars®, Academy President David Rubin announced today.  It will be his first involvement with the Oscars, which will air live on ABC and broadcast outlets worldwide on Sunday, March 27, 2022.

As the governing body of the Academy Museum, the Board leads the museum toward a sustainable future by adopting sound, ethical, and legal governance and financial management policies in addition to securing adequate resources to advance the museum’s mission.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced today that the 93rd Academy Awards telecast has been postponed until April 25, 2021. According to Variety, the ceremony has been postponed two months. 

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the next phase of its equity and inclusion initiative, Academy Aperture 2025.

According to Variety, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences donated $6 million to support motion picture employees and their families financially affected by the current health crisis. The donation will also provide aid to institutions focused on supporting diverse filmmakers.

The first round of Oscars 2019 presenters was announced this morning by Oscars 2019 producer Donna Gigliotti and co-producer and director Glenn Weiss. To help honor the incredible slate of Oscars 2019 nominees​​​​​​​—from blockbusters to independent films—and embrace the diversity of the global movie-going audience, 13 stars were added to the list of presenters. Awkwafina, Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, Tina Fey, Whoopi Goldberg, Brie Larson, Jennifer Lopez, Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, Amandla Stenberg, Charlize Theron, Tessa Thompson, and Constance Wu will be taking the Oscar stage as presenters LIVE SUNDAY FEBRUARY 24 8e|5p on ABC. In addition, it was announced that Gustavo Dudamel and the LA Philharmonic will perform during the Oscars 2019 'In Memoriam' segment.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, in partnership with E! Entertainment and Swarovski, announced today the launch of Action: The Academy Women's Initiative, comprised of the Academy Gold Fellowship for Women, the Academy Directory and annual events, all designed to create opportunities for female filmmakers to connect, share their stories and celebrate inclusion. This year's events will take place on October 15 in London and October 30 in Los Angeles, and will see the announcement of the first two recipients of the Academy Gold Fellowship for Women. Action is an extension of the Academy's A2020 initiative, which seeks to support inclusion and increase representation within the Academy and the greater film community.

While remaining committed to celebrating a wide spectrum of movies, the Academy announced today that it will not present the new Oscars category at the upcoming 91st awards. The Academy recognized that implementing any new award nine months into the year creates challenges for films that have already been released.  The Board of Governors continues to be actively engaged in discussions, and will examine and seek additional input regarding this category.
