Comedian Howie Mandel Returns to Aces of Comedy Stage

The Aces of Comedy series welcomes Emmy nominated comedian Howie Mandel to the Terry Fator Theater, along with special guest Puddles Pity Party, November 24 - 25 at 10 p.m. inside The Mirage Hotel & Casino. Mandel has starred in countless comedy specials, both on cable and network television. Puddles Pity Party, known as the "sad clown with the golden voice" who recently appeared on "America's Got Talent," will bring his brilliant sense of the absurd, mixing humor with awkward, tender moments.

There are opera festivals and then there are OPERA FESTIVALS, but none that promise to be the equivalent of Opera Philadelphia's O17, which opens on September 14 for a 12-day run. It's a dazzling array of the old and new, the well-known and emerging, being produced at prestigious venues around the city, from the Academy of Music to the Barnes Foundation. There's even a screening in Independence Park of a hit from the last opera season.

REDCAT, CalArts' downtown center for contemporary arts, 14th annual New Original Works (NOW) Festival, a three-week celebration of Los Angeles' vibrant community of artists creating new contemporary performance works continues August 3-5 and August 10-12 at 8:30 pm.
