The inaugural Brooklyn Guitar Festival will take over Greenpoint’s Warsaw and Prospect Park’s LeFrak Center at Lakeside on June 12–13, bringing together some of the world’s most celebrated guitarists.

In fact, AA Milne’s rarely performed 1921 play The Truth About Blayds is refreshingly unsentimental about years gone by, preferring to totally deconstruct the idea that we ever had it better in the past. In Milne’s universe, revered Victorian heavyweights were not the ‘great men’ of history, but complex mortals, maybe even frauds.

The Museum of Contemporary Art North Miami (MOCA) is thrilled to feature saxophonist, Jacques Schwarz-Bart as part of its monthly a?oeJazz at MOCAa?? series on Friday, March 27. Schwarz-Bart grew up in Guadeloupe where he learned how to play the Gwo ka drum as a child. He was coached by Anzala, one of the top percussionists in Guadeloupe and learned the biguine style of music. At age six, while living in Switzerland, Schwarz-Bart discovered jazz music and taught himself how to play the guitar by playing along with jazz records.
