Ireland's Coronas Will Release EP of New Music Ahead of Upcoming North American Tour

Ireland's multi-platinum-selling band The Coronas are set to release new music ahead of what will be their third North American tour in less than a year. REPRISE, a five-song EP of new material, will be available on July 6 as the band prepares to kick off their latest tour at the iconic Lollapalooza Festival in Chicago's Grant Park on August 5.

At last night's Reeperbahn Festival New York Edition at A2IM Indie Week presented by SoundExchange, the 2018 jury for the ANCHOR Award—the award that Reeperbahn Festival launched in 2016 to identify the most promising emerging musical talent—was detailed. It had previously been made public that KCRW's Chris Douridas and Jason Bentley, David Bowie's longtime producer Tony Visconti, and 2017 ANCHOR winner Jade Bird will be on this year's jury (just as 2016 winner Albin Lee Meldau was on 2017's jury); last night, producer/4 Non Blondes frontwoman Linda Perry and Morcheeba frontwoman Skye Edwards were announced as jury additions. Consequence of Sound broke the news on-site.

Gillian Welch's celebrated fourth studio album, 2003's Soul Journey, will be released for the first time ever on vinyl via her own Acony Records on August 10th, to coincide with the album's 15th anniversary. The long awaited first pressing of Soul Journey, which The A.V. Club hailed as “raw, spare, direct, and achingly pretty,” contains some of her most beloved songs, including “Look At Miss Ohio,” 'Wayside/Back In Time” and “Wrecking Ball”. Soul Journey was mastered directly from the original tapes through custom Ortofon amplifiers to a Neumann VMS-80 cutting system and plated and pressed on 150-gram audiophile-quality vinyl at Quality Record Pressings, and can be pre-ordered here.
