Vanderslice dedicated the past few years working in his renowned Bay Area studio Tiny Telephone, where artists like Death Cab For Cutie, Sleater-Kinney, and Spoon have recorded, but then returned to songwriting, pouring out an emotional series of songs about his despair over his mother's death, his complicated relationship with drugs, and his nostalgia for a pre-tech boom San Francisco. The National have shared another album track “Light Years” off their forthcoming album I Am Easy To Find. You can stream the song HERE and watch the accompanying video HERE, featuring scenes from the short film “I Am Easy To Find,” directed by Academy Award-nominated director Mike Mills (20th Century Women, Beginners), and starring Academy Award Winner Alicia Vikander. I Am Easy To Find is the band's eighth studio album and will be released May 17th on 4AD. With the recent album announcement, the band shared the opening track “You Had Your Soul With You” featuring the vocals of longtime David Bowie collaborator Gail Ann Dorsey. A companion short film with the same name will also be released with music by The National and inspired by the album. More film details to be released at a later date.
