Milwaukee theater audiences young and old are in for a real treat this January when First Stage proudly presents Roald Dahl's MATILDA The Musical, Book by Dennis Kelly and Music & Lyrics by Tim Minchin.

Theatrical licensor Music Theatre International (MTI) has acquired worldwide licensing rights to the award-winning musical comedy Groundhog Day.

On February 2, the real Groundhog Day, original cast members from the musical reunited for Humans Of Punxsutawney, a one-night-only concert at Feinstein's/54 Below. Watch highlights from the concert below, including  songs from the show, and new versions of classic songs, with new Groundhog Day-related lyrics written by the cast.

It seems the small town will be staying put as Groundhog Day composer, Tim Minchin, reported via Twitter this evening that the Tony-nominated Best Musical. would not be embarking on a previously discussed national tour.

According to the Daily Mail, the clock has yet to stop on GROUNDHOG DAY. The show is currently being revised with hopes for a return to the West End. Director Matthew Warchus says the updated production will feature re-writes of the book (by Danny Rubin) and new songs by Tim Minchin.

The multi-talented Tim Minchin will be honored with the Qantas Orry-Kelly Award which celebrates an Australian who has contributed to the national identity of Australia with their body of work and has created opportunities and inspiration for other Australians internationally.

Today, Tuesday, August 15 at 6:15pm, the producers of the Olivier Award-winning Best New MusicalGroundhog Day, which opened on Broadway to critical acclaim this spring, announced that the show will end its run at the August Wilson Theatre (245 West 52nd Street) on Sunday, September 17, following 176 performances and 32 previews.

Last night, legendary actor Bill Murray made a trip back to Punxsutawney as he attended Groundhog Day on Broadway for the first time. Murray starred as Phil Connors in the 1993 film which the musical is based on.

On a recent episode of Broadway Bartender, host Anthony Caporale welcomed Michael Fatica, Travis Waldschmidt, and Vishal Vaidya from the musical GROUNDHOG DAY to the bar. Of all the crazy aspects of the show, one that is most shocking is the amount of costume changes, and how quickly they happen.
