The Blank Theatre in Hollywood has announced the world premiere production of Hot Tragic Dead Thing by Ashley Rose Wellman, directed by Christopher James Raymond. There will be two preview performances on Wednesday, February 26, and Thursday, February 27 at 8pm, and opening is set for Friday, February 28, at 8pm. The cast will feature (in alphabetical order) Max Banta, Reed Campbell, Nikki DeParis, Wes McGee, Marguerite Moreau, and Siete White. Daniel Henning and Bree Pavey are the producers.

The Blank Theatre in partnership with LA City College Theatre Academy is now seeking submissions nationwide from playwrights 19 years of age and younger for the 28th Annual Young Playwrights Festival. Submissions must be made online or postmarked by March 15, 2020. The winning plays will be presented by professional actors and directors in June of this year at LA City College's Caminito Theatre in Hollywood, CA. The Blank Theatre's Young Playwrights Festival is a nationwide competition that produces the work of 12 young writers each year. Since 1993, the festival has produced 332 plays by playwrights 19 and younger from 34 states.

The Blank Theatre in Hollywood has announced it will partner with LA City College Theatre Academy to produce the 28th Annual Young Playwrights Festival (YPF) in June, 2020, and beyond. The partnership is a major milestone for The Blank and YPF and a huge part of the Festival's growth and expansion. The 90-year-old Theatre Academy has educated generations of artists, many of whom have gone on to great things. The Blank's Young Playwrights Festival is a nationwide competition that produces the work of 12 young writers each year. Since 1993, the Festival has produced 332 plays by playwrights 19 and younger from 34 states.

The two-time Telly Award-winning film version of The Blank Theatre's production of The Tragedy of JFK (as told by Wm. Shakespeare) is now available for free streaming on YouTube (https://youtu.be/jhnBy9fKvHk). Conceived, adapted, and directed by Daniel Henning, the play had its world premiere in Los Angeles on October 1, 2016.

The Blank Theatre and Marc Huestis Presents have announced a special multimedia event to celebrate the release of the audiobook of Marc Huestis's memoir Impresario of Castro Street, narrated by actor/activist and Blank Theatre Artistic Director Daniel Henning, on Saturday October 26, at 2pm. Hosted by Bruce Vilanch and featuring Teri Hatcher in a tribute to the late Carol Lynley, the event will take place at The Blank's 2nd Stage Theatre, 6500 Santa Monica Boulevard, in Hollywood. Two L.A. Theaters To Host 'Mueller Report Read-A-Thons' In July

Two venerable Los Angeles intimate theaters will each host a Mueller Report Read-A-Thon, offering Angelenos the opportunity to hear the Mueller Report read aloud, in its entirety, on either side of the City. The Fountain Theatre in East Hollywood will host a single, 15-hour event on Thursday, July 18 from 9 a.m. to midnight. The Odyssey Theatre Ensemble in West L.A. will hold a separate marathon reading, breaking it up into two 8-hour sessions on Monday, July 22 and Tuesday, July 23, each from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Admission to both Read-A-thons is free and open to the public.

Paulo Andres is partner at Rothman/Andres Entertainment, a boutique talent management company based in Studio City. The company serves a small, select group of working actors. His non-profit experience includes being a board member and eventual Board President for Common Ground (now called Venice Family Clinic).
