Mosaic Theater Company of DC is proud to announce its compelling 2022/23 season, the first season selected and planned by Mosaic’s new Artistic Director, Reginald L. Douglas.

The World Premiere of i need space, a new digital series written, directed and created by Donja R. Love (Sugar In Our Wounds, one in two) and presented by The New Group Off Stage in association with John Ridley’s NŌ Studios and Frank Marshall will begin streaming March 8, 2022, exclusively on the new streaming platform, Broadstream. 

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater has announced the cast and creative team for Tony Award-nominated August Wilson’s Seven Guitars, directed by Tazewell Thompson (Arena’s Jubilee).

August Wilson’s story of seven friends in post-war Pittsburgh may take a while to get started, but don’t let the slow pace or lengthy run time fool you. The play, and Arena’s production, have all the ingredients of great drama - rich characters, powerful writing, and human introspection - and together they simmer and tell a timeless story about race and economic inequality in America.

Theatre production company Parity Productions, the only New York theatre company that ensures that they fill at least 80% of the creative roles on their own productions—playwrights, directors, and designers—with women, trans, and gender-expansive artists and offers free tools to encourage the rest of the theatre industry to do the same, has awarded two commissions to Kelley Nicole Girod for This Stretch of Montpelier and M Sloth Levine for At Hotel MacGuffin. The ceremony took place on Wednesday, November 10th as a hybrid event over zoom and in person at the Manny Cantor Center.

Rep Stage has made the difficult decision to postpone production of its first show of the season – “Songs for a New World”. The production is now scheduled for December 2–19, 2021.
