New Orleans rock/blues sensation Eric Johanson returns to the U.S. after the latest of 25 highly acclaimed European shows so far in 2024 to resume his “Don’t Hold Back Tour,” supporting his chart-topping album, The Deep and the Dirty.

Mike Zito to Release New Album 'Life Is Hard' in February

Zito recorded the new album in September at Sunset Sound Studios in Hollywood, California, with Joe Bonamassa and Josh Smith producing. Both Bonamassa and Smith were involved in the production of Blood Brothers, the critically-acclaimed album Zito recorded with fellow label guitarist Albert Castiglia.

About the video Johanson declared, 'On one level 'The Deep And The Dirty' is two references to the American South.

'Stompin' Ground' Wins GRAMMY for Best American Roots Performance

The recording is taken from the documentary film and soundtrack Take Me to the River: New Orleans, which celebrates the rich musical history, the heritage, legacy, and influence of New Orleans and Louisiana music through live sessions with local artists. “Stompin’ Ground” was produced by the film’s director Martin Shore and Eric Krasno.

Soundtrack Released for Documentary TAKE ME TO THE RIVER: NEW ORLEANS

Today Petaluma Records released the soundtrack to Take Me To The River: New Orleans — the album and feature documentary film feature new recordings from The Neville Brothers, PJ Morton, Big Freedia, G-Eazy, Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah, Snoop Dogg, Dumpstaphunk, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, William Bell, Ani DiFranco, Donald Harrison, Galactic, the late Dr. John, and many more. The film hits theaters in NYC and LA today and will roll out to select cities nationwide during the month of May, list of showings HERE. The soundtrack is available now digitally, with a CD and deluxe vinyl release to come on May 27, 2022. A Take Me To The River: All Stars tour is also set for this May, and select musicians featured in the project will perform at music venues across the country.
