Bay Area natives and provocateurs, Culture Clash, return to Berkeley Rep with their latest production, Culture Clash (Still) in America. The play, written and performed by Culture Clash and directed by Obie Award winner Lisa Peterson, marks the fifth time the satirical group has performed at Berkeley Rep.

Los Angeles' own powerhouse vocalist Marisol Hernandez (aka La Marisoul) steps out on her own on Saturday, March 28 at 8:00pm in a rescheduled concert with a band of All-Stars to breathe new life into the most influential Mexican-American music of the past three generations.

This spring, ABC turns up the romance with the compelling new modern-day fairy tale 'The Baker and the Beauty' premiering MONDAY, APRIL 13 (10:00-11:00 p.m. EDT), following the premiere of the all-new Bachelor Nation series, 'The Bachelor Presents: Listen to Your Heart.'

From February 27 to March 15, Theater for the New City (TNC) will present comedian/actor/broadcaster Donald E. Lacy Jr. updating his one man show, 'ColorStruck,' a bittersweet examination of how cultural assumptions drive American society. Since national politics provide a never-ending supply of new material, the piece is continually reshaped. The velocity of change since TNC presented the show's New York debut last year (Feb-March, 2019) has inspired Lacy to initiate a new version that reflects pressing current events.

THE GREEN ROOM 42, Broadway's newest Cabaret Club, presents Celeste Lanuza Y La Familia in Songs from the Musical: The Desert Rose on March 1st. Celeste Lanuza (NPR Tiny Desk Ft. Latinx Singer-Songwriter, Radio City Music Hall NBC Universal Singer, Arizona Opera Principal) presents a one night only performance of the full score of the musical she co wrote and co composed with her father Federico Lanuza ('In the Name of the People' Composer for Academy Award Film, Mongo Santamaria composer/pianist, Old Globe Theater composer/musical director/pianist) pianist and music director of the evening.

A new comedy by John Godber OBE is to open at Theatre Royal Wakefield and East Riding Theatre Beverley, before transferring to Trafalgar Studios in the West End in May.

On Sunday afternoon, Long Beach Opera (LBO) presented the world premiere of its adaptation of Henry Purcell's semi-opera King Arthur at the Beverly O'Neill Theater. A semi-opera refers to a Restoration entertainment that combines a spoken play with musical episodes that involvolomot, Darryl Taylor, e singing and dancing. Purcell's best known semi-operas are King Arthur and The Fairy-Queen. LBO presented its version of the latter in 2017.

Daniel Garcia is working in the family bakery and doing everything that his loving Cuban parents and siblings expect him to do. But when he meets Noa Hamilton on a wild Miami night, his life moves into the spotlight. Will this unlikely couple upend their lives to be together and pull his family into a culture clash? “The Baker and the Beauty” premieres MONDAY, APRIL 6 (10:00-11:00 p.m. EDT).

Every February for the past three years, JAG Productions has invited African-American theatre artists to spend a week in White River Junction, Vermont to further the development of a new play or solo performance. Over the course of the one-week residency, three to five projects receive an intensive workshop, constructive feedback, and a staged reading for the public at Briggs Opera House. This year we are excited to announce a new partnership with the Hopkins Center for the Arts, where we will be concluding our festival with our final reading at the Bentley Theater!

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater announces the company for A Thousand Splendid Suns, adapted for the stage by Ursula Rani Sarma and based on the 2007 New York Times bestselling novel by Khaled Hosseini (Kite Runner). Set in 1992 in war-torn Afghanistan, this gripping story centers around a friendship that develops between two Afghan women following a tragedy. While facing insurmountable odds of a brutal and oppressive way of life, the two form an unlikely bond in a heart-rending fight for survival. Directed by Carey Perloff, A Thousand Splendid Suns runs January 17 - March 1, 2020 in the Kreeger Theater.
