The Sharon Resch Institute of Music at UW-Green Bay welcomes The American International Czech and Slovak Voice Competition for its 10th anniversary at The Weidner on Oct. 14-16, 2022. This one-of-a-kind event promotes Czech and Slovak vocal repertoire to young classical singers, as well as raises awareness of the unique and culturally rich heritage of the music and the region. The event is free to attend and open to the public.
UW-Green Bay Music has announced the lineup for the Spring 2022 6:30 Concert Series at the Weidner Center. The long-running concert series returns on Thursday, March 3, 2022 with “Child's Play,” a childhood-inspired piano recital from world-class pianist and UW-Green Bay Music Professor, Michael Rector.
Performed by UW-Green Bay students, Fun Home is directed by John Mariano with choreography by Denise Carlson Gardner. The pit band is comprised of UW-Green Bay Music students and is under the musical direction of Courtney Sherman. Fun Home is the second production of UW-Green Bay Theatre and Dance' 2021-2022 season.
The Weidner Philharmonic at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay will welcome live audiences to the Weidner Center this fall with a classic symphony concert and a special gala celebrating the installation of Michael Alexander as UW-Green Bay’s seventh Chancellor. Tickets go on sale Thursday, August 5, 2021 at 11:00 AM.
The Weidner Philharmonic’s performance of “Walton’s Façade: An Entertainment” live in the Billie Kress Amphitheatre at the Green Bay Botanical Garden has been rescheduled for Sunday, June 20, 2021 at 3 p.m.
The Weidner Center for the Performing Arts is heading to the Green Bay Botanical Gardento bring Weidner Philharmonic back to the stage as its members perform “Walton's Façade: An Entertainment” on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at 3 p.m. in the Billie Kress Amphitheatre.
The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay Theatre & Dance program will offer two virtual performances in December. The first, a world premiere of an original drama entitled: Faithfall will premiere on Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. Pre-show interviews and a post-show discussion on the play's themes will provide additional insights.
University of Wisconsin-Green Bay Theatre and Dance and Music programs will present Richard O'Brien's 'The Rocky Horror Show' Nov. 21, 22 and 23, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. with an additional special late-night performance at 11 p.m. on Nov. 22. Performances will be held in the University Theatre, Theatre Hall UW-Green Bay.
