CAROUSEL to Close on Broadway September 16th

The acclaimed revival of Rodgers & Hammerstein's classic musical Carousel, directed by three-time Tony Award® winner Jack O'Brien and choreographed by 2018 Tony Award winner Justin Peck, announced today that the show will play its final Broadway performance at the Imperial Theatre (249 West 45th Street) on Sunday, September 16, 2018. Preview performances began on Wednesday, February 28 and Carousel officially opened on Thursday, April 12, 2018.

BC Beat Announces Choreographers From Tony Nominated Shows

BC BEAT, an evening that sells out and is yet intimate, dynamic, and playful, continues to stimulate new collaboration between choreographers, performers, directors, composers, and producers like no other event in New York City. Just ask Patrick McCollum. He was introduced to Steven Hoggett as a possible performer for his BC BEAT piece in 2011. Following their BC BEAT process, McCollum worked nonstop with Hoggett as an Associate Broadway Choreographer and this year, made his Broadway choreographic debut with THE BAND'S VISIT. McCollum is one of the many Broadway artists who have performed and choreographed at BC BEAT and have made the most of the opportunity at hand.

CAROUSEL Announces Matinee Benefitting Actors Fund

Carousel and The Actors Fund announced today that the new hit revival of Rodgers & Hammerstein's classic musical will host a special Mondaymatinee performace on Monday, May 14, 2018 at 3:00 PM at the Imperial Theatre (249 West 45th St.), with proceeds to benefit The Actors Fund.

Rialto Chatter: Is Lindsay Mendez Joining Broadway's CAROUSEL?

The revival of Carousel is on its way to Broadway and it looks like stage star Lindsay Mendez may be joining the cast. No official announcement has been made, but an eagle-eyed viewer caught the actress's name up on the Imperial's marquee.

Producers Scott Rudin and Roy Furman will soon present Rodgers & Hammerstein's classic musical Carousel, directed by three-time Tony Award winner Jack O'Brien and choreographed by Justin Peck. Carousel will begin preview performances on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, and will officially open on Thursday, April 12 at the Imperial Theatre (249 West 45th Street).

It was recently announced that Carousel will begin performances at the Imperial Theatre next spring, starring Betsy Wolfe as Carrie Pipperidge, Alexander Gemignani as Enoch Snow, and Margaret Colin as Mrs. Mullin. This is in addition to the previous casting announcement that includes  Joshua Henry as Billy Bigelow, Jessie Mueller as Julie Jordan, Renee Fleming as Nettie Fowler, Amar Ramasar as Jigger, and Brittany Pollock as Louise. Broadway Revival of CATS Headed to the Heaviside Layer This Winter; National Tour to Kick Off in Providence!

Producers The Shubert Organization and The Nederlander Organization announced today that the first-ever Broadway revival of CATS will play its final performance at 8 PM on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at the Neil Simon Theatre (250 W 52nd Street) after 16 previews and 593 regular performances. Preview performances of CATS began Thursday, July 14, 2016 followed by a Sunday, July 31, 2016 opening night.

One of these Albany natives is Corey John Snide, currently portraying the role of Coricopat in the Broadway revival of Cats. Snide was kind enough to speak with us about his dance roots here in Albany and how they helped him create a successful and riveting career so far.
