Victoria Theatre Association continues the popular 2018-2019 Cool Films Series with the classic medieval comedy, THE PRINCESS BRIDE. Show times are July 13-14 at 7 p.m. and July 15 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $6 and passbooks of 10 tickets are $39 and can be purchased in advance or one hour prior to the film.

Westport Country Playhouse will present a Script in Hand playreading of 'Better Late,' a romantic comedy by Larry Gelbart, on Monday, February 26, at 7 p.m. Gelbart was a creator and producer of the television series 'M*A*S*H,' and a co-writer of the film 'Tootsie' and the Broadway musicals 'City of Angels' and 'A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.'

Producers Robert Driemeyer, Morgan Sills and Jan Warner have announced the New York Premiere of PARTY FACE, a new comedy by Isobel Mahon ( Glenroe, Fair City ) and directed by Amanda Bearse ( Married With Children ).

Written and directed by Eric Stange (The War That Made America, American Experience: Murder at Harvard), the new documentary American Masters EDGAR ALLAN POE: BURIED ALIVE-draws on the rich palette of Poe's evocative imagery and sharply drawn plots to tell the real story of the notorious author.

On October 24 and 25 at 7 PM, the Utah Symphony Films in Concert series will haunt Abravanel Hall with scary good performances of the IMFCA winning, delightfully quirky Nightmare Before Christmas score by Danny Elfman, performed live to picture. This special event includes one of the state's largest costume contests, with winners scoring access to a treasure trove of passes and tickets to local Salt Lake City museums and events. AJC.com has announced that a live reading of THE PRINCESS BRIDE will be held at the Rialto Theatre in downtown Atlanta on October 22. Hugh Jackman and Vera Farmiga, in town filming 'The Front Runner', will lead the reading as Westley and Buttercup.

“Hamilton” Tony Award nominee and Grammy Award winner Jonathan Groff has stepped in to headline Westport Country Playhouse's 2017 Gala on Saturday evening, September 9. Groff will replace previously announced Matthew Morrison who is no longer available to perform at this year's Gala due to a scheduling conflict.

What can be said about THE PRINCESS BRIDE that has not already been said? It is one of those movies that many people quote word for word. They watch it over and over and over and over again. Fans can't get enough. It's the go to movie for friends who don't know what movie to watch when sitting around the TV. But, why is it so popular?
