Join Matthew McGee for an evening of glamour, gore and guffaws in MISS MCGEE'S CREATURE FEATURE. This August, freeFall Theatre hosts three nights of thrills and chills with three hilarious and spine tingling films from the 80's. This fun night at the movies is part Elvira and part Mystery Science Theatre 3000 with improvised commentary, trivia, games, and concessions. Going to the movies can be a real drag! Admission is only $10. Don't miss the horror classics Fright Night (R), Creepshow (R) and GREMLINS (PG) on August 11, 18, and 25. All screenings will take place in freeFall's auditorium space.

Victoria Theatre Association continues the popular 2018-2019 Cool Films Series with the classic medieval comedy, THE PRINCESS BRIDE. Show times are July 13-14 at 7 p.m. and July 15 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $6 and passbooks of 10 tickets are $39 and can be purchased in advance or one hour prior to the film.

Tony Award-winning Broadway and television star Sutton Foster will headline Westport Country Playhouse's 2018 Gala on Saturday evening, September 8, performing Broadway standards with a trio of musicians. "Sutton effectively stops whatever Broadway show she's in with her amazing combination of talents in dance, song, and a wicked sense of humor," said Mark Lamos, Westport Country Playhouse artistic director. "She's a dazzling throwback to the great Broadway stars of yesteryear."

On June 4, students and educators from across Connecticut and Rhode Island will gather at the Shubert Theatre of New Haven for the first annual Stephen Sondheim Awards, which will be hosted by Hamilton's Solea Pfeiffer and Ryan Vasquez. The Sondheim Awards are presented by Broadway Method Academy (BMA), in association with the Shubert Theatre and Westport Country Playhouse.

On October 24 and 25 at 7 PM, the Utah Symphony Films in Concert series will haunt Abravanel Hall with scary good performances of the IMFCA winning, delightfully quirky Nightmare Before Christmas score by Danny Elfman, performed live to picture. This special event includes one of the state's largest costume contests, with winners scoring access to a treasure trove of passes and tickets to local Salt Lake City museums and events. What can be said about THE PRINCESS BRIDE that has not already been said? It is one of those movies that many people quote word for word. They watch it over and over and over and over again. Fans can't get enough. It's the go to movie for friends who don't know what movie to watch when sitting around the TV. But, why is it so popular? BWW San Antonio had a chance to speak recently with Westley/Dread Pirate Roberts himself, Mr. Cary Elwes, about this movie and what has kept it going so strong for so long.
