With a wide selection of great movies by directors including Ingmar Bergman, Joe Dante, John Huston, Stanley Kubrick, Vincente Minnelli, and more, Museum of the Moving Image presents a holiday edition of its popular ongoing series See It Big!, from November 19 through December 24, 2016. The season opens this Today with back-to-back screenings of Tim Burton and Henry Selick's The Nightmare Before Christmas, screening in Dolby Digital 3-D; Barry Levinson's heartfelt, autobiographical Avalon, chronicling generations of a Jewish family in Baltimore; and Hannah and Her Sisters, Woody Allen's funny yet philosophical family dramedy starring Mia Farrow, Barbara Hershey, Dianne Wiest, and Michael Caine-with the last two films centered around Thanksgiving meals.

The Broadway at Birdland concert series presented Grammy-nominated recording artist, television and Broadway star Ilene Graff, along with her husband, ASCAP-Award winning musical director Ben Lanzarone, with their big band show 'It's Better With A Band' on the Birdland stage Monday, June 13.  The show featured Ben's one-of-a-kind arrangements of songs from Broadway, the movies, and the pop world played by twelve of the best musicians in town. Their very special guest was their daughter, Broadway performer and podcast host ('The Ensemblist'), Nikka Graff Lanzarone.

On Thursday, June 16 at 7PM, Cherry Lane Theatre will host Soiree Fantastique!, a special benefit evening that will include a performance of the world premiere of Israel Horovitz's Out of the Mouths of Babes, starring Oscar winner and five-time Tony nominee Estelle Parsons and two-time Tony winner Judith Ivey, along with Angelina Fiordellisi (Zorba on Broadway opposite Anthony Quinn) and Francesca Choy-Kee (Disgraced). The performance at the Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce Street) will be followed by a post-show discussion with the cast moderated by best-selling novelist Adriana Trigiani; a fete with French cuisine, wines, and music and an exclusive photo opportunity with the cast. More than 300 people attended JCCA's annual Celebration of Hope: A Gala to Benefit Children and Families at Jazz at Lincoln Center May 18, 2016. The festive event raised more than $700,000 to help the 16,000 vulnerable, abused children and families served by JCCA, one the national's oldest child and family services agencies. Ghostlight Records recntly released the PRELUDES Original Cast Recording in digital formats and in stores. Produced by LCT3, Lincoln Center Theater's initiative devoted to producing the work of new artists and engaging new audiences, PRELUDES is a new musical by Dave Malloy, inspired by the music of Sergei Rachmaninoff, developed with and directed by Rachel Chavkin. The album is produced byDean Sharenow. The CD jewel-case package contains a 32-page booklet with full lyrics and production photography. Ghostlight previously released the original cast album of Malloy and Chavkin's musical Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812, which is opening on Broadway later this year starring Josh Groban. Theatre Ventures has just announced that 2015 Pulitzer Prize winner Stephen Adly Guirgis (BETWEEN RIVERSIDE AND CRAZY) will write a new play based on the Oscar®-winning motion picture DOG DAY AFTERNOON.  Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures is developing the play for a Broadway bow to follow their successful production of Oscar® winner William Goldman's adaptation of MISERY starring Bruce Willis and Laurie Metcalf.

PITTSBURGH – Today, the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra announced two upcoming one-night-only concerts — Disney in Concert: Tim Burton's THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS on Wednesday, October 21 at 7:30 p.m. and Celtic Woman: Home for Christmas — the Symphony Tour, on Monday, December 7 at 7:30 p.m.
