Remy Bumppo Theatre Company has announced Marti Lyons as artistic director. Lyons assumes this role effective immediately. Lyons was selected after a national search led by ALJP Consulting, with a search committee composed of select staff, Core Ensemble members, Board members and representatives of the local community.

Theatre By The Sea's owner and producer Bill Hanney, who recently announced the reopening of Theatre By The Sea after a 21-month intermission, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, will open the 2021 Summer Concert Series with Rhode Island's own Nicolas King on Friday, July 9 and Saturday, July 10 at 8:00 pm.

Howard University has announced the appointment of Phylicia Rashad as dean of the recently reestablished College of Fine Arts, effective July 1, 2021. In this role, she will report to Provost Anthony K. Wutoh. An alumna of Howard University, Rashad graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s in fine arts.

American Repertory Theater at Harvard University announced today that members of the A.R.T./Broadway cast of the hit musical sensation SIX will reunite on The Lunch Room on Tuesday, June 1 at 12PM ET. 

American Blues Theater has announced She Writes the Songs, as part of its ongoing music series, “The Garage.” The online event on Friday, April 23 at 7pm Central will feature an evening of music with Artistic Affiliate Liz Chidester.

Orange Tree Theatre today announces the play titles and full cast for Inside – the first instalment of Inside/Outside, a collection of world premiere short plays by emerging and established writers.

The House Theatre of Chicago today announced the appointment of its new Artistic Director, Lanise Antoine Shelley. Shelley is a multi-hyphenate Haitian artist, director, playwright, educator, visual artist and accomplished actress who has performed with some of the country's most prestigious companies.

Sideshow Theatre Company is pleased to welcome eleven new ensemble members and artistic associates. Ensemble members include Wardell Julius Clark, Greg Geffrard, Arti Ishak, Krystal Ortiz, Gabrielle Randle-Bent and Netta Walker. Artistic Associates include Patrick Agada, J. CLUB44 RECORDS is launching their relationship with acclaimed vocalist Nicolas King with the release of his new collection Act One: Celebrating 25 Years of Recordings, which will be available in streaming and digital formats on Friday, January 22.

Steep Theatre will welcome several new members to its ensemble of artists. Laura Alcalá Baker, Debo Balogun, Chris Chmelik, Destini Huston, Omer Abbas Salem, and Joe Schermoly are Steep’s newest Ensemble Members. All six of these artists have played pivotal roles in Steep’s artistic development over the past several years, and the company is honored to have them involved in shaping the organization’s future.

New York Theatre Barn will host a free live stream of the 30th installment of its virtual New Works Series on Wednesday, November 18th, 2020 at 7PM EDT, featuring excerpts from the new musicals It Came From Outer Space and Broken Ground.

CITIZEN DETECTIVE, Geffen StayHouse's third production, has already been sold out, just as the first two did. Specifically written for Zoom, playwright/director Chelsea Marcantel has fashioned a mystery who-done-it with the Zoom audience as the solving detectives. Best-selling true crime author Mickie McKittrick (played by Morgan Rusler) will guide the Zoom participants as they form into smaller break-out groups to follow the clues laid-out in this 1920's unsolved Hollywood murder.
